Oh nothing, forget you ever read it. :D
I wont. Tell me. That puerile emoticon is telling me alot about you...

And your insinuations tells me a lot about you too. So we're even. 8)

Insinuation of what? Nothing. Where? Nowhere. Why? Actually, yes, why? I don't make insinuations about other people so I can't answer the why question.

And then you go and use the sunglasses emoticon, which doesn't look smug or condescending at all.

If you wanted somewhere to publish your interviews and stuff you should have picked your platform more wisely. You should have picked here due to the existing collaboration WP has with Autism Speaks (getting Alex to bother with your enquiries about it might be another matter though).

To my mind that is 100% the correct course that should have been taken in the first place, and I have to ask myself why it wasn't?

To add to all your reasons above, WP is US based whereas AFF is UK based and operates in a totally different context.

Insinuating yet again just now. Come on, you're not even trying this time. You may as well just say I was being smug and condescending. Not that I be offended so easy.

That doesn't provide an excuse for the lock. If anything it proves that AFF only had bad reasons for doing so, namely because they hate even the possibility of autspeaks doing anything good ever. Now I do suspect autspeaks of bad things, but unlike people with no life I like proof before I COMMIT TO MAKING ACCUSATIONS. There are no excsuses.

I don't know why AFF locked the thread. As much as I've seen here on WP and with Alex's partnership with Autism Speaks making those Autism Talk vids, it doesn't take much for "Autism Speaks sponsoring production of the Autism Talk videos" to become "ZOMG WP AND AUTISM SPEAKS ARE TOTALLY IN THE SACK WITH EACH OTHER, WP = CUREBEEEZ!! !!1111".

I can only guess that AFF don't want the same thing to happen to them, and are thus fearful of hosting/endorsing any Autism Speaks related content whatsoever.

I wonder that too to be honest.

But for fun...

*tinfoil hat on*

Maybe they want us to initiate an in-fighting.

*tinfoil hat off*

Trying heroically to unite AFF and Autism Speaks together is simply a ludicrous thing to even try. Anyone who's been hanging around the different groups for a long while would know this.

Not far from the point of my matter actually. WP would have been a better platform for his efforts as there's more exposure here.

Again...blue bean has totally nailed what should have been obvious from the outset, all personal opinions aside...so *WHY* didn't he just start off here in the first place?

*tinfoil hat* Infiltration attempt by Autism Speaks to influence AFF?

Not that I honestly believe that, but astroturfing is a popular concept deployed by corporations to shape public opinion by illusion of popular opinion, so why not any organisation who's desperate?

I think locking the thread was a separate issue, much more structural than that, if you read it you will see. It was just going round in snarky circles, John Scotty had gone off to sulk and other posters declared themselves tired of even thinking about it. I think they just wanted the thread to sink without a trace...so they could talk about something else...

...and from a TOTALLY different perspective, however cute he is, there is only so much any person can take of John Scotty's ego living rent free in the head...

He didn't nail anything at all, Zeraeph. He just made the excuse that because AFF is bigoted then he doesn't have a right to post on there. He did post here. He also posted there. There's no excuse for people jumping on him in AFF just because of AFF's reputiation. That's just weak.

He hasn't gone to sulk. He had actually told people not to bully his sister. If that's sulking then I am the Planet Mars. And no they hadn't even declared themselves tired. One poster actually said that people shouldn't jump all over tambourine_man and attack him. other people were just making unproven accusations, like that he was arrogant, arrogant for what? Noone has actually shown me anywhere that Tambourine was arrogant yet.

I know that only too well...it's about as subtle as a zebra crossing to me too (makes my eyes glaze over, sales techniques always do)...you can actually FIND companies that do just that, for a fee, by googling, but it doesn't come cheap so that geo-practical joke you had in mind?

NOT affordable...

I cannot help wondering if it was more the fear of having to compete with Alex that kept him out of WP and in AFF?

I'm a female, and I didn't say anything about him not having a right to post there, he can post wherever he chooses. I was just remarking that approaching AFF to publish his interviews wasn't a good strategy (from a publicity and avoiding drama POV).

Actually.....scratch that, it was a good strategy in the end as he's obviously getting his desired publicity now, isn't he? :?

Yeah, astroturfing is popular Nexus. The problem is like any accusation you have to prove it. Saying that it's popular isn't proof of anything.

And Zeraeph, uou have no right to start speculating why Alex posted where he did.

Of course...the quickest, easiest way to get an audience is to shock and offend people.

Problem is, it's like playing Russian roulette reputation wise, misjudge the shock-wave the controversy generates and it'll wipe your creditability out along with it.
