Aha! The beauty of human brutality laid bare twice in one thread!
I have treated with illogical disdain in secondary school.

No, they're not. They're indicating that the trademark or symbol being used is being used without its registered owner's permission - something they are obliged by law to do, if they expect to be able to continue using it.

I saw them. That's too high to be honest in my opinion.
Dicto simpliciter.
And since I think it's improbable that you have any detailed understanding of the expenditure of any of these organisations, saying "That's too high to be honest in my opinion." is still a sweeping generalisation.

Legal=/=moral.
That's an entirely different argument.

Yes. He said trademarks were violated. THere's no evidence to suppose which trademarks were violated. NTs Speak is not a trademark violation.

They aren't obliged by law to do anything. They protect it if they want to. Furthermore Cease and desist means 'we threaten you by saying we will bring a case against you if you don't do this'.

Incorrect. Dicto simpliciter would be saying that because Oxfam UK provides a lower salary than Oxfam USA and Autism Speaks and all three are a charity, the latter two companies should reduce their salaries. What I did was say that it's too high for a charity in general. Why? Well it's a drag on resources better spent elsewhere.
And since I think it's improbable that you have any detailed understanding of the expenditure of any of these organisations, saying "That's too high to be honest in my opinion." is still a sweeping generalisation.
No it isn't. A sweeping generalization is saying that nobody in a charity should be paid because it's a charity. The premise of what I said, that it's a drag on resources, is not an illogical or unreasonable idea. Ergo not a sweeping generalization.

[/quote] There are two arguments here. One is about cease and desist. one is about overpaid charity shop executives. The latter is most definitely a moral argument. So I don't know what you're talking about when you bring in a legal challenge.

Also why did you delete my correction of dicto simpliciter?

In the USA, corporations are required to protect their registered marks.

I've lost interest in picking apart the rest of it.

? And yet there is no evidence to say any marks were broken. It was a parody site after all. :/

@aspie48,
I don't like Autism Speaks either, but I think you are being too paranoid about them too. And it's not just this thread; you say that ALL, not most, not some, ALL NT's are evil and want to wipe us out, and say you want to wipe them out back. Autism Supremacy is just as bad as NT supremacy. Just because someone is in a minority group, does not give them an excuse to be prejudiced to people back. :roll: :roll: :roll:
