I don't like the "aspie" word - I'm not really one for all that cutesy stuff, anyway. I've always preferred "I have AS or Asperger's" over "I'm an aspie".

i suppose "saktra" isn't going to catch on but i will take it for the unmarked case...

i see that "allistic" is gaining on "neurotypical" in some quarters. (that's "social butterfly" vs "social ret*d" i guess.)
when i want something REALLY PEJORATIVE i'm going to use "Cretan" :)
there's a stereotype that can be detourned.

I really can't stand "Aspergian."

Or, "aspie." Though, the worst is when I hear people say, "my Asperger son, or my Asperger daughter" as if they are describing another species or race or something.

It's Asperger's. 's

And if someone adept at communication is a social butterfly, then are socially delayed people "social caterpillars?"
