First off, yet another person misuses the word disease; diseases are germs that cause physical illnesses.
Second off, there is no cure.
Third off, if you wish to help the low functioning, the solution is not to make them neurotypicals, but to improve them to become high functioning autistics.
I feel it necessary to point out the irony in your statement.
Diseases are not germs that cause physical illness...
The medical definition of a disease is "an impairment of the normal state of the living animal or plant body or one of its parts that interrupts or modifies the performance of the vital functions, is typically manifested by distinguishing signs and symptoms, and is a response to environmental factors (as malnutrition, industrial hazards, or climate), to specific infective agents (as worms, bacteria, or viruses), to inherent defects of the organism (as genetic anomalies), or to combinations of these factors"
Boiled down to simple terms... A disease is a malfunction of the body that messes up functioning; has a specific set of symptoms; and can be tracked down to environmental factors, genetics, foreign life forms in the body or any combination of those three...
Before you correct someone on the usage of a word, it is best to be familiar with the proper use of said word.
