Morning westernwild, may I ask you with respect, when did Prof Attwood last attend a FAAAS conference?

Also where has he written about the 'CADD'? I would be very keen to see your references as I can find little or no information. As far as I recall his last attendance at a FAAAS conference was some years ago? So why the attack NOW. I know for sure he cancelled last year.

Maxine Aston? Again I would be keen to see references please, thanks.

You know guys there are nicer ways of asking people to clarify their situations or postitions. You don't have to get the daggers out and draw up dramatic petitions to gain attention? Doesn't Tony deserve better? He hasn't committed the crime of the century has he? Actually I don't see any evidence of ANY crimes having been committed so please quit the witchunt as that is my perception of this whole sorry mess, ask nicely and then maybe you will get an answer. When posters start making BIG assumptions and demanding experts take a certain course, it is UP to them to provide the EVIDENCE for the rest of us to believe?? I see no evidence being produced on behalf of the petitioners................................Doh!! !

But I can assure you I have extensively researched the Maxine Aston allegations and I have spent ages making sure of my facts..........so bring it on. You want clarification? Ask away.

Dr Attwood is being dragged into something that actually if you looked hard enough would see has nothing to do with him..................the petitioners are looking pathetic. Ooh by the way yes, the petition, doesn't look as though many have signed in the last few days!! Wonder why!

I am thinking of starting a petition AGAINST the petition. Ridiculous nonsense, haven't you lot got better things to do??Check out MAXINE ASTON she is a far more dangerous character to have on the loose in my opinion. Riding off the coatails of Tony and then stabbing him in the back soon as look at him.

Dear Colin



I would like to state quite clearly that having a diagnosis of autism or Asperger’s syndrome does not render a person automatically incapable of being a good partner and parent. Indeed, many of the people I know with autism and Asperger’s syndrome as clients and friends are exceptionally good parents and partners. Should a separation occur between partners and a Court examine the issue of custody of children and access then in my opinion, any decisions should be made on the basis of the abilities of each parent and not simply assume that a parent with autism or Asperger’s syndrome is incapable of being a good parent.



The term “Cassandra Affective Deprivation Disorder” has been coined by Maxine Aston. It is not an official diagnostic category. I do know that stress within a relationship between an adult with Asperger’s syndrome and their partner can lead to the neurotypical partner having signs of a clinical depression. Effective relationship counselling by a counsellor knowledgeable in the area of autism and Asperger’s syndrome can significantly improve the relationship and help alleviate the signs of depression.



According to my knowledge, there is no research to suggest that people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome are likely to be violent in a relationship to any greater degree than a typical person in the general population. I do know that a significant proportion of the clients that I see in my clinical practice express to me their concern in their ability to manage their temper but we now have programs such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to help those with autism and Asperger’s syndrome manage feelings such as anger. Problems with anger management also occur in the ordinary population but the nature of the treatment of difficulties with anger management must include an appreciation of the different experiences and cognitive profile of someone with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.



I have presented workshops for FAAAS for couples where one of the partners has a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome and in all my presentations, I have approached the issues in a very positive way examining strategies to make a successful relationship.

CanyonWind........I agree amazing video, I am so sorry you can't see your kids to show them. I genuinely am. ( I promise that is no way sarcastic) I empathise as I nearly lost mine too many years ago. At the hands of a vicious Child Protection Team in the UK. I too like you was incandescent with anger, scared, desperate and lonely. Luckily for me, I kept my children. But how much did I have to endure during the 2yr process? How much damage did it do for me and my children? I have witnessed a woman having her son torn away from her by police and Social Services, heard the screams of fear, horror and desperation, it is horrific. So yes I can appreciate your being raw (I apologise if I misinterpret any of your feelings, it is just my hunch ok!). I am trying to understand your feelings truly. The only area I cannot agree with you is your reference to Tony Attwood. I promise I have researched this issue extensively and can see maybe a bigger picture? Tony is not the person to attack. He is one of the only professionals that DOESN'T judge us! So why are we JUDGING him? That aint fair surely. Tony Attwood is a kind man who gladly forwards many books, sadly Maxine Astons also. And that for me is a sticking point. I too would be pleased to see him publicly disassociate himself with her. For she is the one who is the Charlatan in my opinion. Her disgraceful unethical ways of practicing, advertising herself and taking money from the vulnerable is nothing short of heinous. And maybe he will, for now I know he is abroad lecturing so when he gets back to Australia and has time to respond I am sure he will. He has nothing to hide and nothing to be gained in staying silent. Let's wait and see, give it a bit longer maybe? No point in killing someone before we know the full picture (metaphorically speaking)

Poison spreads sadly, and even sadder to those who have no idea they have been infected. For me Tony Attwood has been infected and tarred with a brush that comes from Maxine Astons foul smelling paintpot.But I genuinely don't think he realises the extent of her smearing. So rather than treat the symptoms lets get to the root cause. Anyone out there want to poke their nose into Ms Astons dirty little operation? If you do let me know, I will support anything that exposes that. Then maybe once we have shown everyone what is going on, MAYBE you will find Tony and others distancing themselves. Bring it on anyone who wishes to do this. I am up for it. Scumbag? Not a word I would usually use but if you want to label anyone then please look at Maxine Aston FIRST. She is the root cause.
