Barack Obama's Stance on Autism and Asperger's
DO SOMETHING YOURSELF!
I am tired of A.erica stepping arse backward into full blown communism (from each according to his ability and to each according to his need) due to a binch of whining ninnies and their ever present demands for more of every one else' da.ned dollars.
Want health care? BUY IT!
Want money for autism research? EARN IT!
Want better treatment of autistic people? DO IT!
fer chrissakes
Exactly how I feel. I wish we could have Ron Paul as our president. He would set things straight. People who want communism should move to Cuba or North Korea.
Zendell and Bozewani,
You two are a breath - a couple of breaths - of fresh air!
Also, sorry I type badly. Something like dyspraxia, I think.

Unfournately, Communism is dead and those two countries are already have enough economical problems because of Communism itself.

Obama is the only one who can beat McCain anyway.
He has qualities of Lincoln and both Kennedys inside his character and political background so a very good choice for president.

I support Obama now because of this and because he is the transition of the leaders of our parents generation and the leaders of ours. That and he is democrat meaning he wont be like bush making his decision based on religious belifes. Also I he will resolve the sins of our fathers and reverse global warming so we dont inherit a world half underwater or like frontlines fuel of wars depiction of the future with increased poverty and other problems. Also that he could resolve the middle east issues and also find bin laden because he is not gonna take anymore of crap pakistans give us especially after losing Bhuto the women who could of been ours and the middle easts savior. Then finally stop Iraq an tell the iraqi government to step up to the plate or were leaving and create a government ruled by both sunni's,shiites and kurds and not take Irans crap because they neeed to learn that nuclear proliferation leads to nothing but misery and hurts the nation that has the nukes than anyone else. That and Banish No Child left Behind to another dimension for crimes against humanity.

JFK wouldn't follow those orders from the Pope because the USA is mostly made up of Christian Protestants. Also The Revered of Obama's church is a radical so it doesn't mean he is as well nor he is racist by any means either.

Thank God someone's said it...
So how about what he said at that UN conference Alex attended in the second video on that page??

While I would love to see a change of demographics in the presidency, and it's nice Obama realizes the importance of autism, I'm still a little wary about him. My issue is that he hasn't gotten around to explaining exactly how he's going to pay for all his social welfare programs. Letting the recent tax cuts expire will pay for some, but won't nearly cover the cost of universal Healthcare. Universal Healthcare could force taxes up to extreme amounts. And if it's not implemented properly it could cause some serious problems. There's a reason why Canadians who can afford it come to the U.S. for treatment even when Canada has universal healthcare.
It all eventually boils down to a simple question. What's more important? freedom or security. In this case it's security of healthcare in exchange for the freedom to spend part of your income how you choose. How many freedoms are you willing to give up in other areas to ensure other forms of security? There is the middle ground but you must be sure to not drift one way or the other if you choose to take it.
The United States seems to be drifting towards increased security. People are afraid, but let up hope people realize what's happening before we end up in a totalitarian government of our own creation.

Between this thread and the one about Alex speaking at the UN conference, I am confused on Obama's stance when it comes to Autism. Does he want to help because he realizes that autism isn't a disease that is 'destroying our children' or does he want to cure because he said it IS a disease that is destroying our children....?
Love your picture btw, Lekiwi, it about sums it all up for me.
I will not vote for Clinton because she is someone who, even her good friends refer to her as an evil woman, and her BS about universal health care makes me realize that she obviously has never spoken to anyone in Australia, Canada or the UK about how bad universal health care can be. I'm sorry but I do not think it is fair that a person who makes minimum wage is going to spend the exact same amount for care as someone who makes 6+ figures a year. I also do not fancy the idea of paying 40+% in taxes, nor do I like the fact that you'll have to wait months to years for basic appointments and care.
McCain...Okay well I have seen the effects of post-war PTSD first hand, and, maybe I'm a bad person, but I do not see him as being mentally stable enough to be our president. I do like his stance on Iraq and Iran; (Iraq needs a bit more time to stabilize before they can be on their own after so many years of war, torture, etc. and yes, contrary to what the media tries to convince us of, Iran is a threat - they want to destroy Western Civilization and most of them are raising their kids to hate us and to want to kill us all. ) But McCain also talks down to people, he thinks he is better than all of us and a man who thinks that, in my eyes, does not represent me at all.
As far as Obama, I trust him less than I do McCain, as I completely see him as someone who talks out of his butt. His favourite word is CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE. Yet he never truly goes into details on how he is going to incorporate these changes, how he is planning on paying for these changes, etc. He wants more social welfare programs...great, that means more taxes for people who actually get off of their butts and work for a living. And yes, I am quite aware that there are people who cannot hold down a job due to mental or physical issues, but you all know as well as I do that about 90% of the people on welfare programs are only there because they are too lazy or too busy sitting around feeling sorry for themselves to get a job.
While people have spent the last few years doing some serious "Bush-Bashing" no one seems to mention the fact that since 9-11-01, there have been no more terrorist attacks on American soil. I do not want this to change, I like being safe and I never again want to feel like I did on September 11th 2001.
The only thing I can say is, do NOT let the media choose your candidate for you. This is the biggest 'media election' we have ever had, and 99% of all media these days are biased and have their own agendas. Research the candidates yourself and if something doesn't feel right or seem right, then trust that intuition. As far as me...I'll probably just write in Romney, sure it's a wasted vote, but I don't think I could live with myself if I voted for the other three. And I am still convinced that considering what dire economic straits that this country is in, that Romney would have been the best choice for America...too bad everyone got hung up on the whole Mormon thing :/.

Obama has a long record supporting people with ASD. In the state senate, Obama sponsored legislation that became law to create the ASD Program - a systems development initiative designed to promote the implementation of evidence-based practices. And in the U.S. Senate, Obama is also a cosponsor of a measure that would expand federal funding for life-long services for people with ASD, authorizing approximately $350 million in new federal funding for key programs related to treatments, interventions and services for both children and adults with ASD.
I found this through the Autism bulletin.
I agree 110%- this is why it pays to have a candidate who sees that everyone is different!
No its not communisim this contry is to dependent on free enterprise and the private sector, mainly big buisness and we are paying the price for example no child left behind was created with the help of huntinton learning center so it was made to their benfit while me and other american teens are paying the price. That and they support poverty buy making sure the rich get richer and the poorget pushed into the mud. That and the republicans trying to merge religion with government. This create a problem because their are those who make $50,000 a year living comfortably then their are those who make less than that but dont qualify for welfare and live like crap and still have to flip the bill for those are on welfare. But its not that I dont support welfare but their are those in this country who life better than me and they are on welfare and the worst part is some of them are not even trying to get a job and some are capable of getting a job. or are even illegal. I hate that why does my family have suffer being poor and their are people who break the law to get here and expect a free handout. This is made worst that rhode island has lots of special needs and autistic kids but no support for them.
