I'd like to put them on an island where everything is run by computers and there are no Aspies. How long do you think they'd survive?

I can see it already. "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TECH SUPPORT, WE NEED TECH SUPPORT!"

It's like how I envisioned a world without Aspies, people would be running through the streets with their laptops screaming for someone to help them fix it. Nobody would be able to though, heh, that would teach them.

Why would anyone want to eradicate autism? I am all for research to help children with severe autism get more functioning, however aiming to 'cure us' is SOOO offensive. Shall we cure black and gay too? (P.S Don't be offended I am being sarcastic.)

:D Hi Jellybean ( great name by the way!), I totally agree. I AM OFFENDED. Without us autistics on the planet we would be lacking in many of the areas that we are now so advanced in!! To all those genius aspies, auties and adders out there THANK YOU!! For without us the world would not be nearly such a colourful place to be!

Well, I liked their commercials, but I don't like the fact that they want to eradicate all forms of autism spectrum disorders; I think that, if someone wanted to make a cure for autism spectrum disorders, they should make it an optional cure, so people who don't want to change don't have to, and people who want to change can change.

WE CANNOT CURE AUTISM!! End of!!

Autism and ASC are genetic and hard wired. You cannot change it, BUT you can embrace it, be proud of it and work on the many strengths and postives that we do have and be AWARE of our weakness' and learn.

Those of us on the spectrum are capable of learning pretty much anything PROVIDED we are shown first. The teacher has to be empathetic and GENTLE!

Anyone mentoring us that shouts is not helpful. It is quite easy when you get the hang of it.

AUTISM ROCKS end of.

I am trying all I can here in the UK to show kids and adults that it is KOOL to be a 'jellybean' ( on the spectrum) and anyone who disses it is showing ME and MY children great offence.

Time to turn it around and show the world that actually without us the planet would be a very boring and dull place.

yeah, named myself after my rabbit's nickname! She is soft and fuzzy and shaped like a Jellybean!

I wish someone would eradicate my Tourette syndrome, it is driving me potty!

A I love rabbits! Used to have one myself, Benjamin for a couple of years until we found out it was Belinda!!

We describe jellybeans as ALL those on the spectrum, we include ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxi blah blah, it is so oo much easier to be a jellybean than autistic, changes the dynamics and makes it fun. We call neurotypicals marshmallows!

Ooh and have you tried Phosphatidyl Serine, it is a MIRACLE. I have a friend who has Tourettes and it really helps with her tics?

I chose "no." I don't hate them, but their goals definitely seem to be severely misguided.

So that this cure could be forced on people you mean... Optional, they'd make it a general vaccination if there were one. Ok this is just my suspicion speaking, likely true though. Maaaad Worrrld.
