Jenny McCarthy opens her idiot hole again
Well, about one in a thousand with measles die. All males with Rett's Disorder die (it's an PDD). The rate probably isn't much different in the worst cases.
A life with measles isn't doomed to misery either. I have relatively "mild" Autism (Autistic Disorder with a high level of intelligence which allows me to adapt better than those without the latter part), and I had run-of-the-mill measles; I know which one is worst, far, far worst (it's the "mild" Autism).
But anyway, this isn't in relation to the whole vaccine causes measles thingy; another member said measles is worst than Autism (it's not).
It isn't certain about the severity - the idiotic parents kill the kids before they're old enough to be appropriately identified. Savage behaviour.
I think you've read too many of your own pamphlets.
speak for yourself there are many others that think differently. There may be comorbids that could be causing you problems too.

it does makes sense, a snake bite is neurotoxin it can kill, damgae your brain, etc, but I have never heard of a person getting autism from being bitten by a snake.
Neurotoxins exist, yes. I have yet to see a credible source demonstrate that there are neurotoxins in vaccines.
Autism is more highly heritable than scizophrenia, OCD, and most other disorders. The environmental impact does not seem to be very significant.

Your first link is unimpressive, and the second is off-topic. There are rare adverse immune responses to vaccination, yes. The risk of not vaccinating still far outweighs the risk of vaccinating.
what would you suggest is credible. That is john hopkins hospital. All medical studies can only back up their claims. It can not follow the scientific methods. As far as vaccinating i would say it depends on the severity, chicken pox does not need a vaccination. The flu could use one. If I could die by not getting a vaccination I would consider taking the risk. The research does not apply to all vaccines either it is certain vaccines. Besides mercury and thimersol were supposedly taken out of vaccines.

I wasn't criticizing the source, I was saying that you hadn't shown anything all that scary.
No, chicken pox probably doesn't need a vaccine, at least not in childhood. My dad didn't get chicken pox until he was 29, and at that age it is quite unpleasant. I eventually was vaccinated for it after I never caught it on my own in childhood, but I think that is a better route to go than just vaccinating everyone for chicken pox. But MMR makes sense, as do flu shots (for at-risk populations at least) and meningitis.

So, you'd rather have Autism than Measles?
Measles means you'll most likely be itchy for a week, and feel like you've got a bad cold for the same time. Autism means you'll most likely never work a day in your life, you'll live at home or in an institution your whole life, and you'll have few or no friends. Speaking objectively and with statistics, I know which one I'd choose.
I don't have any comorbids; I have plain Jane Autistic Disorder without mental retardation.

Autism manifests differently in different people. There are plenty of NT's with pathetic, unhappy lives. There are Auties who are happy and successful. Your life is not determined by a diagnosis.
Measles can lead to complications that could kill you. Autism doesn't kill you.

That it does, but one must look at the majority; the majority are severely impaired (whether they're happy or not is beside the point; if it takes away choices that people have, that's what one must look at). No, it's not, but it takes away choices one has.
It can, but Rett's in males is 100% fatal, so Autism can be fatal (and without aid, half of the spectrum would probably die as they can't look after themselves).
Why this measles argument to begin with? Unless all known natural law is completely false, which judging by empirical evidence enacted daily - it isn't - the measles vaccine cannot cause autism. The two are unrelated. You may as well say you don't want to go to the Show because you are afraid of being bitten by a shark in the middle of the sea of Japan!
This baseless fear is exposing children, unnecessarily, to measles. Which, despite the popular notion in multimedia cultures viewing it as no more severe than a headcold, can lead to complications which can cause death.

That's sick, that's perverse and incredibly offensive - you should be ashamed for saying such a stupid thing.
Yes, that is one of my biggest beefs with her. She portrays autism as the worst thing that could happen to a child, worse than measles, worse than death... when really it's not. And the really sad part is, a lot of parents use this same justification "They were already dead inside" when they decide to kill their autistic children.
No, her son DID die in front of her. He started having seizures immediately following vaccination, which led to cardiac arrest, and he died. Thankfully they managed to revive him.
Perhaps you should learn a little more about someone's story before you launch personal attacks on them?

Damn you, I have researched, And no - the child did not die. Perhaps if you didn't assume the high and mighty, oh, feel sorry for her - she's a mother! "Moral" pose?
Hell, the amount of times I've nearly died, or - maybe this'll make you think twice before assuming I don't know - my OWN BROTHER has gone through the same things, the frequent seizures, had to learn to talk again, and to move, he's mid-functioning autistic, through early intervention - if not he'd be LFA. But is my mother holding a call to arms against autism? No.
Why? Well, she's a reasonably intelligent person. Hell, apart from my autistic brother the lowest IQ is 115, held by another brother.
So never suggest I havn't done my homework on this, alright?

Don't screw up words like that. A vasovagal response is common for things like shots. Hell, a couple times I have had a vasovagal response to shots, and yes my heart did stop beating a little bit. But it's the SHOT that causes that, not the vaccination. In fact, one instance was having blood drawn, not having anything put into me.
Having a vasovagal response DOES NOT MEAN I DIED. HER SON DID NOT DIE.

No mention of how severe the autism. Mom didn't directly kill him but was responsible for the drugs in his system.

Yes, from that description the child does seem low-functioning. Does that justify it somehow?
http://www.inclusiondaily.com/archives/ ... carron.htm
3 year old was "very stimmy" and refused to take a nap. Sorry, I just don't see the justification there. The mother said "Maybe I could fix her this way, and in heaven she would be complete" It's people like Jenny McCarthy that plant these ideas in people's heads.

That's it, I'm done, these are just too sick to look at anymore.

He was dead for two minutes. Big seizure followed by sudden cardiac arrest. Revived. Alive. Now has neurological problems.
That would be absolutely terrifying for any mother to watch and to go through - give the woman a break, she's not out to kill us all and have us drugged and medicated into a stupor for the rest of our lives. She wants safer vaccines and awareness of the dangers they pose, having seen what they did to her son. No genocide at all. Stop twisting what she's saying and doing. Not everyone on the autistic spectrum is lucky enough to *just* have the autism or *just* have Aspergers.
I'm not saying autism is bad and should be wiped out - I'm saying have a little understanding for what parents have to go through with it, and for what the woman has been through with her son. I'm also not saying I believe her son was cured by chelation or whatever she's on about, though I've no doubt the diet did wonders as it has done for many - he's very young, and often kids that age with autism do get 'better' as they get older, I'm sure we can all relate.
I'm just saying stop the vendetta against her. She's a mother putting herself out there trying to do the best she can for her son whilst trying to stop the same trauma and horror she's been through happening to other parents around the world, and demanding safer medicines for all of us. Again - nothing wrong with that.

Have you actually seen and heard what she says? All of it? The woman is sick, she is deranged. She's not just asking for vaccines to be re-tested to ensure they are safe! Oh, big deal - she saw her child sick for a little while. So have many others!! Members of my own family even! But not everyone makes anectdotal assosciations and peddles googles rumours as "facts" to get parents to engage in dangerous behaviour! I don't appreciate her calling my abilities a disease that drains the life out of people! Have you read how she thinks of her son?! How she labels him? The woman us sick. She's not the only parent in the world!!

I had not actually researched the specifics behind this before, so I looked it up.
http://www.generationrescue.org/evan.html
It mentions his first seizure at 2 1/2, his second 3 weeks later.
So I'm assuming he got his MMR at 1, when its normally given, and then at 2 1/2 he has seizures. And she blames the vacccines.
But epilepsy doesn't "feel right" to her, so it's got to be autism. That "feels right". So it must be!
IMO I doubt her son ever had autism to begin with, just because every doctor she had seen before that said it was epilepsy, so she kept going to new doctors until a neurologist who spent 20 minutes with him said "autism".
It just reeks of a ploy to publish books.
