So why exactly do we hate Autism Speaks?

also in same interview, she takes credit for inventing world autism day. (something the UN actually did, then invited her to come celebrate)

in another interview:

"we try to stem the tide and ultimately eradicate autism for the sake of future generations. If we continue our current trajectory, we’ll get there in my lifetime."

I think a lot of the dislike towards Autism Speaks' is their seemingly obsessive focus on autism's negatives.

It's inevitable isn't it? The revolution, I mean. Fact is that people and groups like Autistic speaks are classifying us. They are putting us in a category. One we don't deserve. They are medically categorizing us as flawed; as handicapped and as diseased.

It will bite them in the ass to be sure. Just like slavery bit all the Southern states in the ass. Just like double standards on voting bit Washington in the ass. Just like White only signs and unfair segregation bit Mississippi in the ass. All we need now are the jaws to do the biting. Lord knows we have them, and they all have teeth.

We need a Malcom X, a Martin Luthur King, a Abraham Lincoln, an Alexander the Great, anyone who could fit such titles. Not just celebraties but heroes, heroes that are ready to sacrifice and are willing to fight and have their heads screwed on just right. And are honest to their followers.

We are all honest. We have to be in order to see things so clearly. We already sacrificed so much. We are mostly too stubborn not to fight. So who is it going to be? Me? You? Someone else?

It will happen sooner or later. They will crack the genetic code. We will be labeled autistic and flawed. The parents of autistic kids will see this in their genes and alter it. And we will not be happy about it.

That is when the feces will hit oscillating unit. That is when the riots and protest of the neurodiversity movement.

Don't believe me? Be honest with yourself. You never got along with these smug NTs. You never got along with normal people. You really don't want to. I mean look at them. Look at what they do to each other on a regular basis. All the fights, all the gossip, all the mockery, and all the beravement of those who will not conform. You know you don't want a part of that.

And they can see right through you. Can see what's in your head. The same way you might know how to read a page in a second or how to calculate large sums in your head, they can tell what you feel and what you are thinking just by looking at your face. Will they try to understand your thoughts, or punish you for being angry and confused? What do you think?

I know you guys. You do better behind constructs, behind actions, behind things that make you stand out, not things that force you to fit in. Halloween comes early in times like this. No one can read a masks expression.

You see where I am going with this? Maybe you do, maybe you don't. I almost hope you don't, but then again I hate being wrong. By 2030 we might see the autistic uprising of America. People in masks raiding homes and ravaging civilized society, protesting loudly in the streets and not backing down in the face of riot police, firehoses, and attack dogs. And they will be no compromises.

They can't negotiate with you on their terms. You don't swing that way. You know that the social system is a rigged game from the start. You know what it is that you want. And its that way or the highway. And we know that someone in a full stim is like someone on PCP. Not that it would show in a urine test.

But then again, you guys are honest. You are kind, polite and understanding. You don't rush into things, and when you do, you have a purpose for it. But a lot of people, especially NT people, really aren't like that. At all. Especially those who band together.......

Just my opinion. discard it at your own risk.

Is it really that hard to picture an autistic citizen rioting in a Batman costume? Assuming he even wants to copy Batman?

Superheroes Anonymous are bringing the idea of masked fighters closer to the norm. And technically, many of us with savant abilites can be labeled Superhuman.

Think of it as a "Fragile X-men" scenario. We will have our professor X who wants to negotiate with the mainstream, and we will have Magneto, who would rather see them conquered.

Maybe I'm using the wrong analogy.

If autistic people in general are not recognized as merely different instead as diseased, and organizations like Autism Speaks royally screw us over (Autistic Fetus Aborted; Outcry in Washington) We won't take things lying down.

Think of an LA riots scenario, but instead of seeing looters and poor people ransacking stores and taking it out on the police, It'll be people from all over the Autistic Spectrum in public outcry against the prejudice held against them and those like them. Imagine that the protests of today become full scale boycotts of genetic reaserch labs and abortion clinics. Imagine fire hoses and riot police being turned on the marchers.

Now picture what the most anti-social of us all will do when they feel the rage. Imagine what twisted ideas might come into fruition based off of terrorist campaigns and pulp fiction.

People like that tend to value anonymity

I think the reason why I dislike Autism Speaks is that they see the meltdowns and the stimming, but they don't ask us "Why do you do that?"


I dislike them also because what they are basically saying to me is:
You are an abnormality that should be irradicated.
You are not a person, you are a plague.
Who you are is worthless, your dreams, your hopes, your feelings, they don't matter because you have autism.
