The death penalty shouldn't exist. Period.
That said, even if we consider autism and other issues as mitigating factors, that doesn't mean he should walk free.
In cases like this the primary difference in sentencing should be between sending him to a prison described as a hospital vs. sending him to a prison described as a prison.
