So true I really can stand those who are intolerant of other people opinion. That and I can't stand her I feel like its a new trend for everyone to act like they child has autism what happend to the days when it was like a curse and not just a status symbol.

She was convinced that vaccines caused autism, saying that the CDC could eat their words when they said otherwise.

She was supposed to be talking about that, but I felt she was intolerant of anyone who didn't believe what she did. Among other things she said that her child died when he developed autism.

Is it me, or does this woman come off as rude and disrespectful? I also wondered if she could secretly be convinced she was responsible for her child's autism.

Seriously, I wanted to yell at her.

She's not very smart. She grew up near me. My sister went to the same high school she went to. They've pretty much disowned her over there.

Really? Just because she wasn't smart?

No because she's a bimbo

What sort of things did she do? Screw half the school or something?

Its a Catholic all girls school run by Nuns. Whereas my old high school the all guy school right next to it is proud to produce John C. Reilly(Talledaga Nights, Walk Hard) and have a plaque of him on the wall with all the other famous alumni like michael Flatly, The girls school acts as though she never existed and never mentions her amoung the successful alumni from there.

So they just make like she didn't exist? What does your sister say about her.

I can believe her being like you say. That's how she behaved on CNN.

Exactly. My sister doesn't care about her.

Is it me, or does this come off sounding a little like the people that used to try to cure people of black skin? Or, better yet, homosexuality? underneath it all is the assumption that we will just comply because we should.

The thing is, though, I spent many years learning how to respect who I am in life as I am in life. I feel God himself made me this way for a purpose and that accepting a cure from anyone else would be like throwing most of my life away.

The only motive I would have anymore would be that other people don't always like me for who I am, and I don't have to answer to that part anyway.

I think you got a little garbled. Can you rephrase that, please?

I tried to watch one of the other videos there, but turned it off the moment she started talking about autism as reversible.

I think she is in denial, and still grieving the loss of her dreams. She says she pulled herself up after one day, and I suspect that is not true.

I suspect she told herself she pulled herself up, and may have started trying to deny her feelings. At best, this is only harmful to her. She needs to allow herself to grieve the loss of her dreams the same way she would grieve the loss of a child.

I think that is the core issue with her.

(Sorry, but I am an AS that can feel the feelings of the people around me, or, in this case, feel the feelings that I watch in someone else, and this really is the vibe I get from her).

I am absolutely disgusted by this woman. I saw the clip on the O'Reilly Factor, and I could not believe how ignorant this woman was. "I'd rather have measles than autism"?! If I saw her in real life, I'd shove her bigotry where the sun don't shine.

I plan to email my opinion to the O'Reilly people and the link to this thread, to get the opinions of real autistic people out there!

She got emotional and forgot that measles has a MUCH higher mortality rate than autism.

At least, as far as I know, no one has died from "autism cooties" shutting down or destroying vital body functions.

I think this woman is afraid of having a child that's different.

From what I saw, they were just talking about her body language. Whether they touched on what this woman was saying, I wouldn't know.

And even if they won't listen, it's worth trying.

Anything specific they said about it?

She is the wife of Jim Carey. She has a kid on the spectrum, but claims he recovered. She is known for being an autism activist, but is rather nasty and definately pro-cure.

You're describing Jenny, I asked about Jenna.
