in case you do not know, genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group. Since when "a personality-type" is an enthicity, religioun or nationality?

And you think early treatment is an evel, huh? you know, should you been taught earlier to somehow pay attention to facial expressions, I bet, your life could be easier. Though, I am sure you gonna give me a million reasons, why it is better not to pay attention to facial expressions until you are 20 at all. I guess you may also give me a bunch of reason not to pay any attention to what others say to you. If that is the key to a productive life, then I had better rule myself out of it.

nobody is going to control your "mating", if that is what you are so anxious about. You may approach, flirt and try to get laid with any woman you like and nobody is going to tell you a word. And nobody is going to tell any woman to abort your children. Even if diagnosed - it would be entirely the choice of the woman (and not the choice of some scientist, like in your notorious Eugenics).

Don't be ridiculous Naturella! If a cure is developed, we will all be visited in the night by men in white vans, strapped into chairs and injected with it! They're already slowly killing us off with their attempts at screening in pregnancy, which as we know is just GENOCIDE, and pretty soon they'll start employing EUGENIC policies! Just like they stop all other people with any sort of genetic difference mating...and without our BRILLIANT minds, the Earth will be ovverun by the evil neurotypical agents of the New World Order!

The Autistic personality is at another level. At the species level. Therefore, it is also an ethnicity by any reasonable definition of the word.

I wouldn't be complaining about such intervention, but what you are talking about is exterminating Autism with eugenics or pills. I don't exactly think that any pills would have made me pay more attention to facial expressions. If I'd been aborted because of eugenics I surely wouldn't have paid any attention to facial expressions.

No, they are not a new species, they are the same, but a little bit different. It is actually a new enthicity, and I would even say ethnic minority. They are not American or Mexican, neither they are Russian or Englsih, far be it from them to be called Germans or Chinese. No. They are Aspies. This is what the new ethnicity name is.

It was already suggested here in this tread, that the only thing that remains to do for full acknoledgement of this new ethnicity is to make up some common hystory, cultural roots, choose a religion (possibly but not neccessary), and may be even make up some place in the globe (just our of the blue or may be, after some serious consideration) where this whole ethnic group came from. .. It may be also worth while coming up with a hymn, flag and common rituals, which in its turn, would strongly reinforce the idea of enthic identity among those who is too cosmopolitan and "forgot their roots".

The new species thing may not be to far from the truth. There is some scientific basis for it.

I'm all in favor of a cure. I'd take it tomorrow if it was available. Having ASD makes me absolutely miserable so I'd do just about anything to get rid of it.

I also think it would be wonderful for people with low functioning autism. Kids who can't talk and have no way to communicate with the outside world. People who have to be cared for all of their lives because they cannot function. Are you telling me they shouldn't be cured?

It is a matter of who can communicate with who and who are we to judge what is 'normal' and what is 'abnormal'. Severly Autistic kids are not braindead as much as everybody would like to believe it. They hear and understand what we're saying but they can't speak back. They are not ret*d. They don't need to be cured but we need to learn about how to communicate with them. This is where the research should be.

And oops, would you look at that, most of the people with antisocial personality disorder are in jail or death row! It was only 40,000 years ago when thick skulled round heads were replaced with long heads, with thin skulls. Expanding dense brains? It took several thousand years, then there were mostly long heads. I am sure there were some intermediate versions, who did not catch on to the new ways.

I am sure there were some who wanted to cure long heads. With the change came art and technology, and long heads were what was left.
