I signed a petition to remove Peta's add "god autism" ( http://www.wrongplanet.net/article377.html ). I also decided to put some comments on my submission. Here is what I wrote:

I don't see how consumption of milk have anything to do with inhumane treatment of animals. I mean, you don't have to kill an animal to drink their milk. In fact, it seems that milk is even more humane thing to eat than vegies because to eat vegies you have to kill plants, while to drink milk you don't have to kill anything.

As far as autism goes, I agree that there is link between milk and autism. But you have to be careful here. If you are BORN casein-intolerant, then consumptoin of milk might cause autism; otherwise it won't. Now, most ppl are not casein-intolerant. So, effectively you are saying that the FEW that are should go off milk; that is true, but that won't cover most of population.

Finally, I have to comment on the last sentence of the petition, which is not directly related, but which I totally agree: "... discrimination and prejudice that truly disable us. ". While I have Asperter syndrome, I can function just fine. The only problem is that duye to the fact that I LOOK weird, others view me as disable and THEY choose not to associate with me (which then becomes attributed to MY inability to socialize). But I am perfectly capable to do anything and everything that doesn't involve OTHER PEOPLE"S CHOICE! My "looking weird" doesn't make it any harder for me to perform any chore than other ppl would; the only handicap is when OTHERS don't allow me to perform a chore (in particular "a chore" of socialization). So it is THEIR PREJUDICE that trully disables me!

^^ Yaye, happies Roman. ^^I believe I, too, would wish to sign this petition, if that is alrighty of course. However, I perhaps but wish to state one possible view on how the consumption of milk may be naughty. This is due to the industry and how the milk is gained. ^^ I believe this is due to the fact that poor cowies may suffer as they used for their milk, due to insensitive use of milking machines and also poor living conditions. ^^ I too believe in animal rights, yet I believe I have come to these beliefs independently and disagree with many methods of many animal rights organisations, includin this one.

^^ Firstly, they are implying that autism is bad I believe with this little campaign. Also, they are not specifying their true beliefs on why milk should not be consumed, or, at least, the livings conditions for cowies to be improved. ^^ In my opinion, they are very much using an excuse for a cause to stop consuming milk, and are not giving the true reason for why they wish this.

See this is the problem I have with PETA. It's like their views are good, but their ways of trying to tell people are bad. Its like because they don't want people to drink milk because of mistreatment of animals, maybe instead of telling people (often gullible) that it causes autism, they should show photos of mistreated animals and reccomend to source the milk from a better supplier. It's just scaremongering otherwise.

they got it off the billboard, but it's still on peta.'s website and it was the advertising company that brought it down, probably scared of lawsuit, but peta itself doesn't realize it could offend anyone
