Part of an episode story-line on a new medical show on TNT called "Nurse Hawthorne" had to do with autism. Judy Reyes, the nurse on "scrubs", played a mom on this one who had gone through suspected abuse and Nurse Hawthorne goes to her house to find that it was actually her autistic son hitting her. It's replaying this Sunday in case anyone wanted to see it...

Anyone know the name of the episode? I could not find it yesterday because they played more than one episode. I should have recorded them all.

Even though some autistics hit, I don't like it that they should hav eone episode in which an autistic appears and then they end up having abused their mother...it indeed sends the message that this is how it usually is. I liked an old episode on a Dutch police series where an autistic was suspected of having stabbed his mother to death. Ultimately it turned out the family doctor, who was constantly telling the police to chemically restrain the son to prevent aggression, had been the murderer.

There's a decent X-Files episode where an individual with PDD-NOS is suspected of murder....

The guy who works at the bowling alley who likes a few of the young women/teenagers who go there, but he obviously can't express it, so he keeps records of their scores (he also memorizes them). Everyone thinks he did it (except Mulder)..., 'cause he's obviously a creepy guy.

Many NTs on other sites I go to, have this misconception that all autistics and aspies bite, chase, pull people's hair, have no bowel or bladder control, and scream all the time and throw tantrums..As a result, they think we should be all institutionalized and locked away for life. :x  After seeing that, I was too scared to disclose my ASD to anyone there.I disclosed it to a friend in BC, and he turned away from me as a result and never spoke to me again. He also said he lost his respect for me. :(
