You already probably know about the video which is very negative about autism which was posted on autis speaks: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt108427.html
I would like to ask a side question in connection to that video, which is irrelevent to the issue of whether or not it should be taken down.

First of all, I agree, that making such a dreaded immage of autism is a big mistake that only fuels the prejudice. But lets say, for the sake of the argument, that they DO want to make a dreaded image. In this case, why didn't they post a pictures of autistics that rock all day long? While the WORDS they said were dreadful, I couldn't really see anything wrong with the kids that they have shown, other than they are a bit quiet.

Like I said, the question is irrelevent to the content of the video. After all the *WORDS* are dreadful enough for the video to be taken down. The reason I am asking about the pictures is that it makes me feel that the reason I didn't see anything wrong with the picutres is that I am very severely affected, so I am so used to seeing MYSELF acting as they do that I don't even notice anything wrong. After all when I was a child, I was standing around and thinking a lot, just like these kids are standing around and thinking.

Now, I know you might answer me that ppl who did that video were biased so it looked bad TO THEM and not to the rest of society. But again, if they have an agenda, why wouldn't they try to find more severe autistics? The answer is they couldn't, becaue more severe autistics are not around. Which again brings up a point that I am probably very server case. The video who wanted to make a BAD image of autism found kids that acted JUST LIKE ME when I was little. So, logic says, if we have less biased autism advocacy group they will find kids that are MILDER than me, so I am severe.

The idea of the video came across to me as the kids ALSO being victims of the evil monster of autism, so they chose kids that came across as normal-looking, cute, and relatable-to as regular kids -- IOW inspiring of sympathy.

I was amazed that a pic of a kid sitting by himself thinking was apparently an example of the evils of autism. More kids need to do that I think.

I hear that some of the parents were never told what sort of wording would be put over the pictures of their children, and are fairly shaken by this video.

Yeah, Autism Speaks deceived everyone. They made it seem like this video would be good.
