Found this - it's not too bad (although it's a very conservative newspaper which I wouldn't recommend to anyone).

Actually I found it while looking for anyone who can make diagnostic assessments AND knows about autism in women being different from men. Does anyone know of anywhere?

Noone else thought that was interesting? I guess my take on media representation is one of a kind too. That's alright. I like that she's thinking outside the box in the world she's in and that she's pursuing an active study of autism instead of lamenting it in her two sons. I don't care that I don't agree with her every thought.

BTW you can ignore the second part, that's just me being preoccupied, I'll find someone myself.

Finding something interesting and having something to say about it, are two different things. I find the article interesting, nothing I did not either know or suspect, but the article is easy to read, informative, and seemingly well balanced. If I have any coment I guess it is that more such articles (well written, informative and dealing with precisely this topic) are desirable and would be beneficial.

I cannot really say much about your other issue because you have not said where you are. I only know personally of one person who diagnoses in adults. I do not know that they have any particular interest or specialty in women, but they were able to very readily ascertain that I have Asperger Syndrome (and I am a woman). I suspect though that you are probably in a different country to me. If you state where you are (country at least) your question is more likely to produce a useful answer. Good luck; it can be difficult finding someone to answer this particular question when one is an adult woman, but (hopefully) it’s getting better as time goes on, and I do believe articles like the one you have linked are making positive contributions in that respect.

Thank you Pandd! Glad you enjoyed it.

I didn't post a location because I really don't mind, I'm expecting to travel. I was just curious to find out what there is to know. But I think I'll have to figure it out myself.
