I have a few questions reagarding these eugenistics:
First,do they have legal power to do this?If they ever discover a cure, could they force us to take it.Could they castrate us by force or send us to an asylum because were Aspies?
Second,if they are trying to eliminate autism and they treat us like second-class citizens, why don't the law act against them or classify them as an "hate group"?
Third, they are giving a false and bad image of autism, shouldn't this be illegal?
Fourth, could they spread to other countries?(I hope they never get in Canada bwcause it's were I live...)
Fifth, why is curring autism or AS so bad?Personnaly I wouldn't like to get cured, but maybe there are some Aspies out there who suffer and hate their condition abd want to get cured?
Sixth, what action could we take against them?I mean some REAL action, not just posting stuff like " Autism speak suck"
Seventh, how could a cure be develloped against autism if it isn't a disease?
Eight, why the governement doesn't declare that autism ISN'T a disease and the autistic actually form a distinct minoroty? This would legally protect us from Autism Speak eugenic(Nazis?) freaks...
1 Probably not, it would be considered unethical by a lot of ppl.
2 They have a lot of money ( = power ). And a lot of ppl not on the spectrum don't see them as hate group.
3 It's probably part of free speech, but I'm not sure.
4 They already have, but they have change their name in some countries.
5 I doubt whether it can really be 'cured'. Most ppl here see their autism/AS as part of their identity and therefore don't like the curing idea. Further more, ppl dislike it because of the implied idea that autisms is a disease that needs to be cured.
6 I really don't have an answer for this one.
7 Nor have I one here, but it probably has to do something with suppressing the symptoms or rewiring the brain.
8 Probably the work it would need, and there is not much attention for it. Secondly Autism speaks (or some other organisation) would probably lobby enough to stop any attempt. There is also a lot of misunderstanding about autism/AS. And the last reason, that I can think of at the moment, is that it is too close to a disease from ppl's view.
