My Family of Autisics Haraassed, Abused and mentaly Worn
Hello, my family is under great persecution and harassment from DHS and The school district of philadelphia. My brother and sisters are constantly teased, bullied, harassed and physically abused by students and adults at willam bryant elementary school, a school that failed The University of Pennsylvania test of improvement 5 years in a row and is a very violent and hostile environment for children with Asperger Syndrome to even exist in. My brother has been locked in the closet handcuffed and shoes removed because he gets so terrified of the school he runs out of the school, staff and teachers wrongly put their hands on them and puts their hands in their face. My mother has been fighting desperately to get them into a better school so they can be safe and actually learn better without all the abuse but DHS and other services involved doesn't understand and down right refuses to understand them or Asperger Syndrome and simply wants to place them in foster care for reasons that are untrue against my mother and wants to (to my understanding of children with disability) place them simply for their own profit. This hell has gone on for 2 years now and thankfully we have an understanding judge it seems but I don't know how understanding. My mother physical and mental strength is wearing thin as she has depression, arthritis and other health problems and is fighting really hard against these nasty people who were actually ordered to give her a health specialist but hasn't obeyed and down right refused it when the judge gave the order. If anyone knows any support or anything they can give to help please please help us.
Here's the link and contact info for Pennsylvania's Protection and Advocacy group for disabled people. Every state has to have a P&A office, which works on legal issues both through the courts and through the legislatures to help ensure services, prevent abuse and otherwise help people with physical and mental disabilities. This would be the best place to start to get a lawyer or a referral to one who can meet your financial needs on this issue (probably, pro bono or contingent fee lawyers):

There are two other offices, but if you're located in Philadelphia, this looks to be your best bet. Good luck, and I'm sorry to hear about how bad things are getting. I hope things get resolved.
