Swedish Readers take up the fight against Aspie defamation
I love how the readers react to yet another example of unscrupulous "win at all cost" lawyers and media intoxicated by ad revenue trying to portray Aspergers as a reason for sociopath behavior. Go Swedes for calling them out.

It is interesting, why does the press link the man's AS with the murder. It was interesting that E. Barker years ago when she wrote about sucide and "cults" wrote that if a man who is a member of a "New Religous Movement" and then kills himself then it is newsworthy that a man from a cult has killed himself. But if a methodist kills himself then the religon of the person will not be mentioned.
I would be interested to know if I do anything newsworthy how much of my medical history would be of interest to the reporters. Most of my medical history is no more interesting than my shoe size.
Can you imagine the newspaper printing "Shock horror exclusive man with size XX feet found dead inside a pinball machine, murder, chaos and mayhem... Blagh Blagh !"

I am not a jigsaw, I am a free man ! Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
Yes, a horrible thing went down here the other day. Something that shouldn't happen did, a really bad thing, and people want to know why. Bless them. But what is not OK, is reaching out for some diagnosis, which is a working hypothesis for helping someone, trying to launch those troubles to explain or even justífy what can be neither.
In mitigation I will say similar things happen all over Europe. The vaguest allusion to psychiatric problems, is an inflammatory and cheap subspecies of explanation.

One reason is Lawyers looking for a way to win. They aren't concerned with reality or end effect. They just want to win.
Another reason, which I'm sure everyone has noticed, is the media and it's desperate need to tag everyone with some recognizable reference. Many times it's the persons employment even though the event had nothing to do with their job. "Truck Driver killed in his own bed!" stuff like that. They like to attach the word "former" to it if the person is no longer employed. Aspergers seems to be the recognizable term right now. It's dangerous how they are using it to describe sociopath behavior.
