Yeah, so, I just found this little video. I'm quite disturbed by it.
Keep in mind that, before I saw this video, I thought Autism Speaks was a good organization. I've been told otherwise, but, now, I believe what others were telling me. If someone else could explain other things about Autism Speaks, that would be great.

Anyway, about the video: The voice used in the voice is downright creepy. How the mention how Autism can ruin marriages feels... very wrong. I don't understand how a disability can downright ruin something like love. They portray people with Autism as selfish in this video, as well as other bad qualities.

Like I said, this video makes me feel very disturbed - and, I feel that this video is an extremely bad representation of the people with Autism as a whole. I know that my brother isn't like what they portrayed in the video - and, he has Aspergers.

What do you guys think? Like I said, if someone else could explain other things about Autism Speaks, that would be great, as I don't know much about them.

I do not believe the video is appropriate with respect to AS.

I can understand if it is addressing low to moderate functioning forms of autism, however.

Autism Speaks is FAR from a "good organisation", unless you also think Hitler ran a good political party.

Sadly, most of these 'charities' that collect donations to help sufferers of this disease or that, are pocketing huge sums of that money. It's a living for them to go around stumping for their 'cause'. They say they want to find the cure, but what in blazes does that really mean? Any cure? A patentable pharmoceutical cure? The amount of money these outfits run through is disgusting.
