Well so far the feelings about Assange have either been positive or downright untrusting of the allegations made against him. I personally feel the allegations are motivated by a sense of revenge and conspiracy. Apparently Assange is being accused of rape because he didn't use a condom when he was 'involved' with the lady, but she did consent to protected sex. But how does not using a condom make something rape if she still acquiesced? There were no other witnesses (You would think) and it's pretty hard to have sex without noticing when someone's putting a condom on.
This is equatable to accusing someone of causing fatal food poisoning because they didn't wash their hands despite the fact that the overseer present must have been close enough to see whether he needed to or not when no one has actually known to have died at all. It's just banking on uncertainty, a grey area to be exploited. One of the girls also posted a list of ways to get revenge on someone.
To quote an oft made swedish joke: You have to get written permission in that country.
According to her own words from the police report:
They had had consensual sex several times, she had invited him to stay at her flat, they started consensual foreplay. She wanted to reach for a condom but he was on top of her holding her arms, she panicked but at no point spoke to ask him to stop, she squeezed him with her legs to stop him from penetrating her without a condom on, he stopped and asked her what was wrong, she asked him to put a condom on, he did and they then had consensual sex.
Afterwards he continued to stay at her flat with her permission and they had more consensual sex. It was only after she found out he had slept with someone else from the conference where they met that she decided to make the accusation of rape.
The Swedish prosecutor originally dismissed the case only for a different prosecutor to resurrect the charges.
Several feminists have come out publicly and stated the whole affair makes a mockery of rape victims.
