James Durbin on idol tells America that he has aspergers and turrets syndrome. When they show him singing the judges are floored and as they give him thumbs way up to move one to Hollywood. I so happy because I hope that this brings more awareness to the apsie population and more understanding. Also that he is a beacon of hope for those of us who have aspies that we too can chase after and have our dreams come true. I so thankful that I saw this tonight cause maybe I am not as lost of a cause as I think I am. I hope he wins. I like to know what you all think about Him and what you think this means if anything to bring more awareness to apsies and people with turrets. Also will he be able to hold it together so that he can win.

In case you missed James Durbin on Idol here or just want here more of him here he is singing a beetles song "While My Guitar Weeps" he is amazing.

Wow, I am so sorry I missed that last night. That's awesome. I hope the group performances aren't too hard on him; that seems like the most un aspie-friendly part of the process of getting onto the show.

I may well have seen that. I wasn't really watching, and I just heard "tourettes", so it could have been him. Man, the American judges are so much nicer to the contestants than the X Factor judges :).

He made it through group week! I'm so proud. And relieved.

I'm still not going to watch American Idol (not my kind of show), but I'm happy for a brother Aspie. :D

I hope he does well. He seems very functional for someone with AS though. His facial tics are pretty obvious, but if he has AS then it sure doesn't show very much.

Just the media using a kid with aspergers to get more viewers to their failing television show.
