You'll need to create a login to see it, but on the thread "I found this a little disturbing" Best posted an hourlong lecture from Youtube containing a bad video of some guy yammering about "The Committee of 300" that runs the world and all HELL broke loose! He claims that everybody on Wrong Planet has been brainwashed by MKULTRA, that autism is "deliberate poisoning of our children", and that "avian flu has been weaponized" so that 90% of the world's people will die, the ultimate goal of the 300 apparently. This is all connected to the British East India Company, heroin, and yes the Illuminati. I was very helpful in posting my own theory, which Best has ignored at last check. Even the mercury militia foot soldiers think he's nuts. It is all at http://autismspeaksnetwork.ning.com/ under the What Do You Think? forum.

And your upset by the insane ramblings of this moron. I really could care less for what he
has to say, and won't waste my time watching an hour long video, of his strange views.
Thank god I have ADHD, and got bored with autism speaks after 2 minutes. ohh look squirrels!

Not upset, just amused. I think his rantings on that thread are hilarious. Paranoids are fun. 8) The video was in 11 minute increments, he posted it saying it would explain everything, and all it is is some dude with an English accent talking about this committee. Then he said we'd have to watch all 10 segments. I have no intention of doing so, nor could I even if I was somehow moved to try. I just thought some people would think it was funny. I kicked his butt, too. He refuses to say whether the reptilian overlords cause autism.

that guy is obviously unbalanced. Probably best not to give him any attention at all, even if you're just mocking him!

Someone call John Best's asylum and tell them to take away his computer privileges for a while.

agreed.
am used to think he was just extremist, but now think there;s a lot more going on in his own head [MH problems] than the autists he attacks.

it is strange he has lasted so long on an autism speaks forum without being banned.

To be fair to him - and I have seen his blog, I know what he's like! - there is some merit to the (scary, disturbing) idea that avian flu has been weaponised; he's hardly the first person to bring that idea up, there are others who hold some very high qualifications and who it would normally be hard to dismiss throwing the thought around...

Just to throw that out there. I can't be bothered reading what it is he has to say because that would involve creating a log-in and I don't like autism speaks so I won't. Plus an hour long paranoid lecture on youtube does not a good evening make.

He WAS banned on the old forum, but this is a completely new forum, and everybody had to recreate a login. Up till now he's been largely behaving himself. But he inevitably took a flying leap off the cliff, and now I think they dumped him.

He is obviously loony. I used to think that he was just one of those types who is mad at the world because his kid has autism, but it's obvious now that he has some pretty severe mental health issues. He is really really serious about this conspiracy stuff! He called us all brainwashed, he called everybody on WP brainwashed by MKULTRA, he thinks that only him and the other followers of this guy know the TRUTH and everybody else is deluded. That's a sure sign of paranoid delusions, of a messiah complex. It's ok to believe in conspiracies, but when it runs your life to the point that you're trapped in delusion, that's a problem.

I wouldn't even worry or care what this guy says. He pulls this crap about on everyone in the autism community. He is one of those "You don't have AS" people. He even said in his blog lot of us are fakers. He even thinks Donna Williams is a fake too. I wonder what about Temple Grandin?

Just don't let him get to you.

I don't know that he even believes we're fake -- he has put out many mutually exclusive stories about me (including that I am not autistic, but also that I am autistic and can't actually communicate but am having words put in my mouth by someone else, etc), and also about many others. He doesn't work from the premise of telling or finding the truth, he works from the premise of whatever he thinks he can use to attack whoever he considers the enemy. And when you do that, you can say many mutually contradictory things, as long as they all hang together in that they are bad things to say about someone.
