Autistic Pride Day takes place every year, on the 18th of June.
On this day, which had been founded by an international group of autistic self-advocates, the positive aspects of living on the autism spectrum are being celebrated.
The first Autistic Pride Day took place in 2005 and it has been celebrated every year since then by the autistic communities around the world.

In Israel, Autistic Pride Day will be celebrated this year in an open picnic on Saturday, 18th of June, from 10 am until 5 pm, in "Friends Park" in Raanana. The place is an accessible playground. It has a few shaded areas (including the play facilities and a wide labyrinth). It also has drinking water taps and toilets.

Among the planned activities for this year are:
Exhibitions of artworks by autistics from the Autistic Community of Israel.
Exhibitions of articles and poems by autistics from the Autistic Community of Israel.
Exhibitions of articles by autistics from the international autistic community.
Exhibitions of books by autistics from the international autistic community.
Word games.
Creative workshops.
Discussions about the representations of the autism spectrum within the popular media in Israel.
And more.

Normally, admission to "Friends Park" in Raanana is 10 shekels per person.
Free admission will be given to all Autistic Pride Day 2011's participants.

Friends Park is a part of Raanana West Park (although it is a fenced area within the park). Arrival is from Jerusalem-Ahuza junction. Turn west and enter the second parking lot, by Café Kaze. Friends Park's entrance gate is by the parking lot.

So do autistics receive a lot of discrimination in Israel like they do in the United States ?

No because people with autism are supposed to be Jewish. The Americans are just taught they are really Nazi's after-all according to pride advocates. If they disagree with pride then they are antisemitic or akin to it. Then if you support a womens right to choose people dressed up as Jewish people will call you bigots at protests, it's happened.

OK it's a joke because that sort of socio-political mixing has taken place in strategy. The sort of sublime methods of ASAN and pride partners. But it comes down to the Jewish folk that partnered with Autism Speaks and whether or not individuals with autism will call them Jewish that are akin to the police like in concentration camps that were Jewish or Nazi Jewish sympathizers that agree with the Nazi way of thinking and they are guilty of all that they have been accused of. The American public politically is being treated much the same as the propaganda from Hitler who slandered the Jews.

WWII was very terrible. It will never be forgotten. Yet the whole Nazi thing in context to autism and combining it with abortion and Jewish histology has been decided to be called on. Meaning there is no sensitivity disablement to the political tactic being called on. If folks want to be proud for who and what they are that's great.

Americans are immune from the political manipulation. ASAN is one of the biggest politically manipulating groups I've ever seen. Yet if you call them on it there is always a come back as to "your one of them" as in a hater.

What is Israel like for autistics? Worse than the UK, say?

I think the idea that the original poster was trying to convey was that although autistics still face discrimination in Israel nevertheless Israel is a good place for autistics to live because they get a lot of support from autistic pride advocacy groups.

There are no "autistic" autism pride groups where I live but there is something called "people first" which does not call people disorders like "autistic" and I have life changing support where I live and a career and others have jobs becuase the community supports compassionate employment. If pride existed here there would be lots of hurt feelings, they would call compassion pity and likely less support because pride groups can be awful at public relations and alienate people.

Going up against autism isolation awareness for instance is how how pride behaves because they are to proud of a disorder label. Here I have supports 6 and now going on 7 days a week and get out in the community. Pride seeks to hide the truth of disability such as isolation and seeks separatism for the sake of abortion politics and call people bigots for being understanding.

Pride can go away.

Well hopefully they are nicer then the ASAN one's in the United States. Some of them dress up as Jewish folks and call people bigots and they are nice people marching. Then others are called Nazi's. Then ASAN calls autism isolation awareness discrimination. I don't trust ASAN because it seems like they are like saying one thing but meaning to upset the public and say autism is not in need of help such as isolation but then ask for supports while using abortion politics to guilt people. As if to seem on the up and up but doing it in the worse ways to create anger and resentment. I'm not the only person upset with them I know others with autism that are not liking ASAN either. My suggestion is to steer clear of ASAN if you are a pride advocate and represent pride in more tolerant ways.

I don't want to keep sounding negative. I was online and did online one on one chats with the owner of Aspies For Freedom prior to Autistic Pride day. I have been against some of it since day #1. They don't like to hear that. Firstly they claim to be about human rights but then seek to evade treatment rights in the form of cure. All a cure means is for adverse symptoms and still yet a diversity should still exist. I am also very much against making a big deal out of the disease terminology because it's really not that big of a deal. It also differs drastically from being gay which they compare autism and it differs because of "functionalism" and they hate that word functionalism. Then society is entirely at blame for that because of how it is constructed. Also I am against being so very confrontational and teaching people that silly words are akin to grave injustices.

I do not really grasp the reason why pride is important other then being content in oneself. I have no insecurity with knowing I have a disability and don't tend to focus on that. While it's perfectly ok for people to believe what they want if the premise of pride awareness is to like it has attempted to do which is evade the human rights of others for treatment advancements especially for something that has nothing to do with sexuality but about human functionalism they are doing a great disservice. Teaching an individual to be resilient differs.

Individuals have the human right to have a disability be considered a disability in the realm of pathology and have the dignity to also be respected in that. Being bullied by being called a curebee and confronting treatment human rights was the down fall to extreme pride. Pride however might re-invent itself but pride in a disability itself is to me wrong-headed and by calling people a disorder your essentially emotionally asking people to be emotionally effected by disorder awareness. I think it's both manipulative and potentially constructive but yet there are better ways to build good self-esteem in peoples lives then forcing a differing perspective or else people are bigots while evading treatment research dollars with their PR game for those who want treatment advancements.
