About five months ago I was asked to speak on self-advocacy at the WV Positive Behavior Support conference. I was asked to specifically talk about my experience growning up on the spectrum, while not getting diagnosed until I was an adult. This is the same issue I discuss in my autobiography (in progress). The conference was held on October 6th and I was offered an honorarium. Anyway, my group's presentation received the highest rating by attendees (higher than even the keynote speaker). So, I am proud of myself! :)

Great job man. That is some bravery that I wish I had more of.

Well done. Hope this leads to bigger and better things for you (if that is what you desire).

Congrats! That's cool that they have something like that in WV. I used to live in Fairmont as well. People seemed nicer there than some other cities I've lived in.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I hope for some opportunities to do talks again... And Fairmont is pretty friendly.

That's so awesome! From one speaker to another, I wish you lots more success to come. :)

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
