It wasn't so much the article that stood out - even if its presentation of autism is mildly insulting - but the comments accompanying...

This is my "repartee" normally I'm more offensive...

"Some of you people make me sick, well and truly sick...
I'll be bring this to to the attention of my government later today! There is an absolutely shocking lack of knowledge among many of you and the Huffington Post.

As an autistic guy in my twenties who is neither ret*d nor incapable of learning (I notably can read) I consider it an affront to my intelligence that some semi-literate Americans with feigned knowledge of autism conclude that not only am I (and my "kindred spirits" over the "big-blue") a veritable "black-hole" for taxes and ret*d; I should have been aborted!

In Scotland that's not an insult, that is a death sentence given air. I am firm when I say that from the histories read the lives of swathes of autistic men and women who endeavored to understand the world and universe that little bit better; and in so doing engendered the heart of progress that powers humanity.

What do we cost? Ask yourself that question, because who are you to stand in the path of human progress? Who are you to undermine the work of Nobel Prize winners: scientists, doctor, engineers and countless other professions? When you need an expert humanity, who do you call? Those Hans Asperger called his "Little Professors" - in defiance of Nazi persecution!"

You should keep abreast of this...

I'm hardly emotional (psychotic would be a closer description); hell, I'm a nihilistic narcissist (broadly speaking) with essentially no empathy - though I do sympathize the situation. What irritates me is the sickening irony that it's not the boy that needs a working education system but the imbeciles posting the comments...

And yet are they telling us something we are missing? Where is a united autistic front or political movement; scientists bonded by brain and trade against the "networked stupidity" that often is humanity?

The interesting thing is the answer is in the title autistic "spectrum" - detecting the pun anyone? This very very site by extension applies a question to something that should be a clear and definitive answer?

Unfortunately I can't share; but you can find it on my Facebook or Huffington Post Politics...

What's the title of the article, and who authored it? I can't find it and don't do FB.
