Thanks to Erin Burnett, we now know that Jared Abrahams, the guy who allegedly hacked Miss Teen USA's webcam, is autistic. I'm thinking great, another thing we DON'T need. How would you throw the book at him? Part of me wants to draw and quarter him.

So, what do you think of Edward Snowden and Julian Assange? If you think those two are heroes, then Erin Burnett must be a hero too. After all, the three of them are guilty only of revealing the truth.

But if you want to "draw and quarter" Erin Burnett instead, why not "draw and quarter" Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, as well? After all, the three of them are guilty only of revealing someone else's secrets.

Over and again people on this forum advise others not to reveal their AS/ASD diagnosis to anyone but their innermost circle. Even many (if not most) people with AS/ASD don't know anyone else who has it - and is open about it. The same is true for journalists. Most of them don't know anyone on the spectrum, so they go and perpetuate stereotypes. We are not helping the situation by keeping hidden, but for some reason it appears easier to blame the journalists (or "criminal" aspies) rather than ourselves.

Dr. Phil just discussed a similar situation with Miss Teen Tennessee yesterday on his show. My take: Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

I was referring to Jared.

Okay then, I'll re-state the questions.

So, what do you think of Edward Snowden and Julian Assange? If you think those two are heroes, then Jared James Abrahams must be a hero too. After all, the three of them are guilty only of revealing the truth.

But if you want to "draw and quarter" Jared James Abrahams instead, why not "draw and quarter" Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, as well? After all, the three of them are guilty only of revealing someone else's secrets.

There. All better?

Is that because a guy commited a crime or because an autistic guy commited a crime?

Jared Abrahams pleaded guilty to three counts of extortion and one count of unauthorized access of a computer.

This article also states he is being treated for his autism. What is the treatment for autism?

There is no treatment for autism. The cure is for a large enough percentage of people to have autism so that it's not considered a disability.

I'm shocked you would make that argument. One was a sexual predator (ok maybe two of them including Assange) but Snowden only did the patriotic thing exposing what the Obama administration was doing. The US government has done many treasonous and harmful things to the American people over time and we have a right to know what they do. Link to what Snowden exposed

The pervert needs to go to jail, and autism has nothing to do with his crime. Most criminals come from NT stock, and no one attaches being an NT with criminals. Bombastic rhetoric and hyperbole only makes us look weird, we want the man arrested and put to trial not drawn and quartered. (only rapists and pedophiles deserve that.)

Haha, secrets that people like the ones Snowden and Manning reveal affect the human species. Burnett was probably just being pervy.

Fnord, this is like comparing a guy who killed in self defense to a guy who killed for monetary gain; the action might be the same, but he motive makes all the difference in the world.
