The beauty of starting your own group is that you get to pick what it means and where you take it. =)
If I recall correctly, you're in the "I'm not broken, don't fix me" camp, eh? If that's the case then perhaps an ideas might be:
Work with the ASB to dedicate an awareness day, perhaps even a pride day since we've effectively been just as marginalized throughout history & society as other minority groups. The focus would be the same: we're just different, it's not okay to tease us for that anymore than it's okay to picking on the paraplegic for being in a wheelchair.
If your viewpoint leans more towards the fixit view, then perhaps it looks more like... hm... passing out flyers listing the symptoms and perhaps links to places like AutismSpeaks, etc.
Odds are strong that most everyone are somehow related/connected to someone on the spectrum. Perhaps a flyer with tips on how to communicate more effectively with folks on the spectrum?
Orgainize an event in your school to raise both awareness _and_ money. A walk to benefit <insert charity here>.
Ir perhaps bring in an unsual foreign language speaker--like Gaelic, for instance, something that isn't likely to be spoken by anyone--and use them to illustrate what it's like for us to interpret body language & social cues. How hard it is for them to figure out what he's saying is comparable to what we have to put up with.
That's just some shoot-from-the-hip ideas. I haven't considered whether any are valid (or even if they're what you were after.)
A better question, really, is what do you want your organization to look like?
