ASAN Statement On Judge Rotenberg Center At Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference
Am I being paranoid in thinking this means after years of masking their intentions to make us all nuerotypical with politically correct "positive reinforcement" the gloves are going to come off figuratively and literally and ABA techniques are going to trend back to aversive's, torture, Lovaas?

Geez.
Does anyone watch/read Game of Thrones and think of Theon Greyjoy who was turned into Reek with his ABA-like torture?
Last year I toured a facility that did just regular ABA and it made me uncomfortable. They were having autistic kids sit across small tables from adults, who were making them do things like look them in the eye and copy their hand movements. The kids weren't allowed to walk anywhere without an adult following them, even to the bathroom. I'm not going to say that it was torture like shock treatment is torture. But it seemed like they were wasting these kids' lives by forcing them to do ridiculous, fairly useless things all day long. I'm sure they were exhausted by the time they got home and didn't have energy left over to deal with their parents or siblings. Like, wouldn't you rather your kid be happy and relaxed than be able to wave and say "bye"? What's more important?

Trying to rescue or recover them from horrible Autism that has kidnapped their kids and will prevent them from being a "normal" adult. While it is useful to research WP you do tend to get the more accepting parents, so you need to look at parental blogs at autism speaks and most of the material at Age of Autism where the sentiments I mentioned in the first sentence are often expressed.
The ABA we have is the result of people became squeamish with aversives but the basic goal is the same. The ABA we have is bad enough, to trend back to aversives would be that much worse

That seems to be their goal. There is money to be made in torturing autistic kids.
