The news media played a large part of why Paul was sentenced to life in prison without parole. 
Back in 1993 the news media went rampant with the idea that all modrowski was not only responsible for the murder of Dean Fawcett which he did not do, but that he was also supposedly responsible for the Brown's chicken and pasta restaurant Massacre.
The two suspects behind the massacre we're not caught until almost 9 years after the massacre occurred period one Luna and James degorski were charged and convicted in 2002 and both confessed that robbery was their motive. Up until 2002, Paul was the primary suspect of the Palatine Police Department and the state of Illinois.
So Paul was never charged in the massacre, due to the widespread belief that he was responsible it is likely the reason that police officers made up the false allegations against him of him supposedly lending a car to Robert faraci because they thought, they were going to get a mass murderer on something else. 
Also, Paul modrowski in the newspaper article titled second suspect charged in mutilation comma his former classmates depicted Paul as being extremely weird and "walking with a frankenstein-like gait" that article was published April 30th, 1993. 
Just less than two years later on January 25th, 1995 an article came out where in court Robert faraci wife Rose faraci, confessed to setting up Paul modrowski by implicating him in the murder and that her ex-husband Robert faraci was the real perpetrator. 
After Robert faraci was acquitted, Paul's attorney William Von hoene told Paul and his family that it was not necessary to testify because the person he was accused of running the car to was no longer a suspect in the murder case. Despite the reasoning of the lawyer to Paul, he still argued with the attorney and wanted to testify, since it was faraci testimony that got him acquitted. After getting into a heated argument with his attorney during the trial intermission, his attorney threatened to withdraw from this case if he or his family went on to testify. 
His family tried to reassure Paul that everything was going to be ok and that the attorney was right since Paul was acquitted, but Paul wouldn't have any of it and threw a major meltdown in the courtroom.
He was so sure that he was going to get convicted that he said to his parents and family members, "As of today you do not have a son anymore". Ironically, everybody on Palm side especially his lawyer thought he was going to be acquitted Kama only puff thought he was going to get sentenced and he was exactly right!
Paul also has his own prison that he wrote for many years until last year when he stopped writing after he found out that his mom censored that he was an atheist.
Besides that, his prison blog was nearly word for word as it was transferred by his mom from letter form into the form online.

I've been trying extremely hard to get Paul out of the current situation he is in. I have been contacting his mom pretty frequently by email, and I have even been trying to contact the autistic advocacy Network and I've been contacting several other organizations, despite all the efforts by me and his mom none of the organization's or news agencies we have contacted has even responded to a request to help all or to do a story on his case.
There is currently a petition out to get Paul freed or to Grant him a retrial. Can you please sign and pass around the petition?

How about making the entire case file available so we have ALL of the facts?
