Are Americans largely excessively paranoid ?

Was listening to an example recently where doing complicated mathematical-equations in public somehow was interpreted by a witness to the math as-if though being an act of terrorist-activity (they be all like, omigod, mathematical-equations that I do not understand, they must be writing down notes to pass onto the pilot who is secretly a terrorist agent that has infiltrated security, this looks suspicious, I better report this person for potential terrorist activity!). Even questioning The Government stories is somehow a Terrorist-Activity. Not only that, for whatever reason, Americans seem to be largely conditioned to think that everybody out there is either a Terrorist or a Pedophile. I feel like making satirical-comments about psychological-projection now. ;o

I have encountered this before. That makes me wonder, and I would not be surprised, how many of you Autistics or Aspies were mis-interpreted or falsely or potentially accused of being a potential pedophile ? Considering the number of posts in the L&D section, with all of these desperate guys who clearly indicate that they have no idea how to act around the opposite gender, I would suspect that those who have made any attempts at interacting with any females at all after a life-time of isolation from any social-interaction, may have probably gotten some very dirty looks or reactions from NTs who are clearly mentally screaming at them, like an accusatory suspicion of thinking that this guy must somehow be a pedophile (when in reality he might just be a future 40-year-old virgin).
