He deserved to win an award because that's one of the most succinct, articulate and engaging descriptions of Asperger Syndrome that I've ever read. It should be used among educational materials in schools, because it makes the whole subject of Asperger Syndrome accessible and easy to understand in an engaging and interesting way.
