Hans Asperger work went beyoud Autism and long past WWII. While understandably most of the attention of Herwig Czech’s paper “Hans Asperger, National Socialism, and “race hygiene” in Nazi-era Vienna” has focused on his complicity in the murder of the disabled there is this brief entry that is unfortunatly relevant with the revelation the Parkland shooter is autistic
“A typical example example of his approach is a 1952 paper on the “Psychopathology of Young Criminals,” in which he named three groups of children with constitutional or organic defects as particularly prone to committing crimes: the so-called “unstable” (or “disorganized”) type, those with encephalitis-induced brain damage, and the “autistic, with disturbed instincts, especially those with normal or above-average intelligence” ( of children with constitutional or organic defects as particularly prone to committing crimes: the so-called “unstable” (or “disorganized”) type, those with encephalitis-induced brain damage, and the “autistic, with disturbed instincts, especially those with normal or above-average intelligence”
Bolding mine
He was describing people with the syndrome that would be named after him as prone to criminalty.

This. I am starting to disbelieve these claims.
I am now feeling that perhaps they do it specifically to bring hate towards autism. I suspect people like the parkland shooter might be an extremist, and might tell extremist groups about how they will falsely claim to have autism to make themselves a "martyr". As the acceptance of a link between murder and autism will further the goals of those who support eugenics.
Similarly, I believe that Hans Asperger is a Nazi who continued to believe after the end of WW2. I believe his studies were at least in part politically motivated for the purpose of labeling a group of people as defective and furthermore referring some to be euthanized.

Several family members said he was autistic
The main thesis of the new book out by the historian Edith Scheffer talked about in the other thread in this section is that Nazi psychiatry was just about that and that Hans Asperger might not have been a fanatic but was was complicit in and supported a lot of these beliefs either because he believed in them or for career reasons.

I personally believe the Parkland shooter being autistic claim was correct, but I also agree that people might be on to something to bring hate to different groups in society. This is what the media has done for a long time.
