You don't have to be the leader to be in control.
Organizational skills can get you involved in inventory control.
Cyber-skills can get you involved in I.T. and networking.
Other technical skills can make you the "go-to-guy" for other people's service needs.
Then, when the layoffs come around, you will be more likely to count yourself among the employed, and not among those who used to pick on you ... before
they were laid off.
