Hello, I’m Marine83, I was recently rejected by the US Army and Marines for my autism diagnosis. I seek to change that. I am wondering, does anybody else feel the same frustration, because we can’t do it alone. I recently wrote a letter to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees. I want to send it near, on, or after January 21, when the new Congress meets. I feel that others should do the same if they too want to change anything.

My son has same problem, was just 86d while on his way to AIT for a suggestion of possible autism! No DX. Just a comment on a record his da volunteered with a statement from a ... DERMATOLOGIST 4 years ago(to have him booted, yeah dick move but that is another story).

I enlisted original in 1988. My Asperger's was in record. At that time Autism was considered similar but separate and the low functioning end. Now that they are now in same X. They are both grounds for separation.
There has been a rash of people accused of criminal anger management type episodes using 'undiagnosed' autism as an excuse and erasing the previous hand wave of it in records as long as person was capable of adapting. #thisiswhywecanthavenicethings

I was very comfortable in the structured environment of the military personally. The daily activities of schedule and rule actually enabled me to be more confident and adaptable to change. I could use my focus on being resilient since all else was on autopilot.

Thank you for your response, I agree that is bs. I'm actually hoping to get more people behind my cause, that is why I wrote the letters. If you want to help, you can make your own letters. Like I said, I need all the help I can get. Also share this amongst your friends, that would also help out.

Intelligence is mostly staffed with civilians position, Aspies are welcome there to most analytical jobs. GCHQ for example have said that they got lots of aspies working for them and even put up autism support stuff on twitter:
