Bus-drivers are banned from wearing Christmas jumpers in case it upsets special needs children.

I know most people here are all for political correctness but I for one think it is stupid. There are Christmas themes everywhere in all stores and in the streets, some involving bright lights and noise which can upset special needs children more so than a guy wearing a Christmas jumper driving a bus, so what difference would it make to ban bus-drivers from wearing them? What is up with this society we live in?

Would there be an equal uproar if English bus drivers were instead required to wear Christmas-themed jumpers?

Unfortunatly these kind of acts rather than helping anyone causes resentment rather than understanding among ordinary people, as they rightly see it as a minority imposing its will on the majority.

Bit like the flappause instead of clapping at an autism conference recently. Many serious NT invitees stayed away.

I'm going to be wearing my red Christmas T-shirt with Mickey and Minnie on it while I do my shopping today. Anyone who hates it for being Christmasy or Disney can go bah humbug themselves. :santa:

With this tide of PC nonsense, Common Sense is going down the tubes.

I believe there will be a reaction to all this PC nonsense soon. But I hope the Far Right isn't at the vanguard of this reaction.

In the US, a “jumper” is only worn by very young infants lol.

(Not a knock on language diversity).

Well, 'sweater' then.

The UK is going crazy on political correctness. A kid with downs syndrome will most probably love seeing a bus-driver wearing a Christmas shirt, and a kid with autism will probably be more upset by the bright Christmas lights or noise and the crowds of the holidays, and a kid with intellectual disabilities probably won't even notice a bus-driver wearing a Christmas shirt...

It's all just going too far and helping no-one.
