The Vagabonde team, the couple that sailed GT back from the United States to Portugal in time for the UN conference in Deember is posting one video a week about the trip, on their Youtube channel and the professional skipper who joined them for this posted her written account in this article.

No surprises for WPers, since GT is one of us, but the public at large will be shocked to learn that she's human and actually not an attention seeker. The comments, naturally, are a sewer.

But that can't be she's from the Wrong Planet.

It distressed me to see a very very small group of former members attack and mock her in quite horrible ways here on Wrong Planet. One was particularly offensive and crude. it was sickening.

Former meaning you banned them I take it.

GT has my sympathies. I know what it is like being an autistic teen getting attacked by older adults on WP.

Some people are crabs in a bucket.

Jumping to wrong conclusions there.

Some of us oldies know what it is like to experience ageism here too.

Sorry that was meant as a question. Sometimes I forget to use a question mark and it ends up looking like I am making a statement.


I was not talking about ageism (although I got that too) but rather about being pounced on in general when I was GT's age. Only a small minority ever objected to it. Most seemed to be on the side of those dishing it out.

So sincerely not meaning to derail or make this about me, I cannot help but think about my years long experiences on WP along those lines when I hear about how atrocious it is for adults to attack an autistic teenager.
