Since I've come to terms with my condition, my mother has often accredited my contrasting politic or philosophical views to my Asperger's which I consider an ad hominem attack, an excuse to not consider that maybe I'm actually right and she's been wrong.

Any similar experiences?

I had that from my wife re: differing political views. Which was intensely irritating and insulting, but I swallowed it and stimmed like crazy later.

It stopped a few years back when multiple events started proving me right to a limited degree. (Hehehe! )
Since then she’s started expecting me to know and understand every question she has on the subject... which is alarming because I’m no great oracle of truth. 8O
I do sneakily enjoy it though

People will look for anything to blame someone else they don't like, rather than admit that they don't like them. For example:

"Oh, Fnord, you believe that only because of your ________."

Fill in the blank with any one or more of the following:

Ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, disability, sex, gender, intelligence, citizenship status, age, profession, education, criminal record, victimhood, past trauma, hobbies, interests, skills, talents, addiction, illness, disorder, skin color, homelessness, investments, social status, property, wealth, poverty, bankruptcy, appearance, marital status, baldness ...
