This poll combines two controversial topics.

This question is not about personally boycotting the film or Sia but thinking the right thing is that they are not seen again.

Do not cancel anything.
I am against cancel culture for reasons I have often discussed in PPR.

As said in the other thread the continuing controversy and mainstream media coverage has given the issues raised during the controversy such as Autistic representation, prone restraint, and inspiration porn unprecedented general public airing. Hopefully this is a tipping point. The film should be saved to be available later on as a historical artifact.

Even if you think the film should be canceled Sia should not be canceled as her whole career should not be defined by this series of errors.

I don't understand the whole cancel culture bit other than either about mercilessness and censorship.

Sure, sure, call out the inappropriate and offensive -- and does this undone the damage that taken place?
Does this undo the triggered responses? The stereotypes that settled and perpetuated?

So a media, an author, some director or whatever who has the mic or camera made a mistake -- maybe even did harm.

But who's to say the source of misinformation does not rectify itself?
Nor it's creator eventually learn to do better, discredited might be?

Nor this so-called whole 'woke' concept other than, like any other damn trendy words with good intentions, imported elsewhere -- being carelessly misunderstood, made exclusive or whatever crapshoot opinionated fools claim -- in which everyone can preach, but never practice.

I've seen worse mistakes and dirt full of errors from where I came from.
And I've seen even pettier reasons to 'cancel'.

Regardless, people at large just misses the point still.
And people from where I came from even more -- I cringe the day people here are trying to mimic the same conflict elsewhere for the sake of some buzzword coming from some opinionated knat.

Anyways...
I choose 'no'.

Because I just don't care. :D
And the heck should I know about the actor, the director or whoever's involved?
How many works does this particular creator has over this one?

And said one, well, film?
Basing their infos from skewed sources? Incompetence? I care not.

There are limits to anything.

I do not think Sia's intentions were bad.

I'm not a fan of her music but why the heck cancel it? it's not like she deliberately sought to seriously injure people and never apologised for it like Mark Wahlberg or Liam Neeson. Nobody cancelled them.
