I'm afraid this has been known for 200 years. Even in the 19th century psychiatrists knew that incarceration doesn't help in rehabilitation of mental disability.

This gives me less sympathy for him.

I think it doesn't help the bulk of the time even in a normal person. IMO this is the biggest thing that needs to be fixed. Like states shouldn't be sued because they didn't arrest and lock up enough people, and people coming out of prison should have options to have a normal life.

I'm not saying he did or didn't do whatever. But be careful before jumping to a conclusion. False reports happen all the time. When I was going through my first degree, some girl tried to get me kicked out of school by saying some BS about me. There was cameras in the room she said whatever happen, and it was proven false. It turned out it was because I walked around the corner one day and seen her cheating on her husband, and they wanted to get rid of me. I didn't know the husband, didn't show any acknowledge to what I seen, didn't honestly care, and they had no reason to assume I would be a risk to them. The interesting thing is the girl ended up getting a divorce anyways, and I think the fling didn't work out. But I smile when I think about how her husband kept her kids.

My point is, unless if you know the details. I wouldn't just assume anything. Keep an open mind that it is another false report.
