I think I'm posting this in the correct forum, since it may fall under Media Representaton and Activism.
There will be a half-Ironman in my home city of New Orleans, LA next April. There will be a lot of news coverage, especially since this is the first one here. A half-Ironman is an endurance triathlon with a 1.2mi (4km) swim, 56mi (90km) bike, and 13.1mi (21km) run and takes the pros about 4hrs to complete. If I'm not injured, I will be participating and will probably finish in over 6 hours. I'm only 16, so I will be in the smallest age group and will already standout just for that. I'm wondering if I should should try and get apparel (tri suit or bike jersey and running singlet) with Autism Awareness groups on the clothing like sponsors or a walking billboard. There is a little less than 6 months, so there is time to plan and take suggestion and help if anyone is interested. I can pay for the entry fee myself; I'm just wondering if this is a good idea and how possible it is. If I don't get that done, I will probably just run in my school track singlet or try and put something about autism on my clothing.
Many thanks,
The Flying Aspie
