Are pretty much the same thing. IMO anyway. Anyone feel the same way? I was a hard core democrat and Atheist in High School now, I don't affiliate with any particular religion or political party.

A lot of politicians seem to be in it for themselves and are alike but as for which party a voter most identifies with, yeah, I think they're different. Most Christians who believe in the Last Days, are against gay marriage and are against abortion are Republicans. Democrats usually want abortion to be kept legal and Democratic Christians follow Jesus's teachings but don't seem to pay attention to the meaner parts of the Bible.

Democrats believe less free enterprise when it comes to businesses that pollute.

there was one year that both parties had a convention in the same city (just different times). One reporter asked the prostitutes what difference they saw, and they said that the Democrats were kinkier, but the Republicans were better tippers...;) (actual quote)

Both parties are pretty much the same. the only difference is the type of voter they attract. I've met many "traditional values" democrats, and many "progressive" republicans. When it comes down to it most candidates of each party are after money and power. In the slime pit called Congress, I have seen only one honest person (Ron Paul) who believes in the original purpose of government, and that man is most likely on the spectrum.

The biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans is who buys them off.

A Democrat is someone who believes that he or she is entitled to use your money to solve all of the problems that other people have made for themsleves.

A Republican is someone who believes that he or she is entitled to keep all the money that he or she has swindled out of other peoples' pockets.

Democrats say "stay out of my bedroom"

Republicans say "stay out of my business"

Libertarians say "stay out of both."

Are you being serious about Ron Paul being on the spectrum? I've never heard that before. Did he actually come out and say he is on the spectrum or is it just speculation?

Sure they are. Both parties do everything they can to make sure that one of them stays in power. They don't really care if they lose power, because they know the pendulum will eventually swing back their direction.

You cannot accomplish anything if you are not in power. There is at present, no threat at all of a third party for many reasons. But there are indeed dramatic differences between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans believe government should be minimal, Democrats believe government has a major role in shaping the nation. Democrats believe in woman's rights, unions, helping the poor out of poverty and keeping the middle class strong. Republicans favor big business. I could go on and on. Republican policies lead to an economic bubble followed by a depression, while Democratic fiscal policies are more sustainable...

Of course you can. You can beat down any and all third-parties to make sure you'll be in power next.

Please explain how they "beat down" third parties. Third parties need to start locally, and build a base, something they have so far failed to do in significant numbers.

There is a serious difference, democrats are pro-free speech, but only if your speech is something that they agree with. See the "fairness doctrine" better known as the "censorship doctrine."

Republicans tend to be pro-free speech as well, and tend to be tolerant of other people's views, though they will debate people over it.

Attack would be a more accurate word than debate. You are correct about the Democrats, though.
