I saw a video on youtube last night about autism being linked to vaccines. Which I disagree with and the video talked about autsim like it's the end of the world.
So I posted a comment giving my opinion on the subject and this woman starts arguing with me and the things she is saying are rediculous and I feel like posting whats being said so far.
(my username is AbsolutelyCrackers and hers is joaharu, there is also someone called skeptiod invloved))

AbsolutelyCrackers:if kids didn't get the MMR jab they could get measels/rubelle, which is an illness that could kill if serious.
autism is NOT an illnes and there is no proof that vaccines have anything to do with autism.

AbsolutelyCrackers: Not I don't think it's an illness,I am on the spectrum myself and I do not at all feel diseased.
And autistic people can live good and fullfilled lives aswel you know it's not all doom and gloom, people say that some of historys greatest minds might have been autistic (einsten for example, and look what he achieved!)

What do you define it as?
Autism makes peple one-dimensinal.
They are competely imcompatible with society they are living with. We need to change the rate of autism, because it is going up.

Autism was known to medicine many years ago, and due to improved diagnostic techniques, kids that would not have been diagnosed with autism a decade ago, now are. The actual incidence has NOT increased, but the criteria by which we decide who is autistic is now much more clearly defined.

AbsolutelyCrackers: autism is a neurological difference, illness has nothing to do with it. and autistic people are not one dimensial we have well rounded personalities aswel. and autistic people can learn social skills and there is no need to say that we are uncompatible. I think people need to embrace neurodiversity and to be aware of the possitives because being negative can affect your son's self esteem joaharu, and it will be harder for him to cope.

No read the scientific data. the consensus among scientists link Autism to Vaccinations.
As for higher autism rates due to better diagnositc techiques, balony. Now there are more new diagnoses of mental disorders than ever. Aspergers, Dyxlexia, ADD... Once again BS on that one.

I doubt you have aspergers since you have good command of the English Language..

and I do understand what this is about and I don't think autism and vaccines are related, which is what I origionaly said on my first comment. The reason I ended up taling about autism not being a bad thing was because I disagreed with your statement about it being an illness.

Anti-vaccine nuts will always be that--anti-vaccine nuts. No degree of education on the scientific results will change them. The sad part is that they usually want to change their children by forcing them to act "normal" which is intensely damaging to an aspie or autistic. It makes me mad too, but engaging in debate, I've found, doesn't even help.

You should post a link to the vid. I think I might wanna get involved.

By what you placed here, Joaharu put up these things to feel superior to other people, not share info.

About the parents forceing their children to act "normal", I think that's sad. I also think it's abuse.
"Now walk this way instead! Your mommy knows best." -- You don't know how to move your own body.
"Stop wiggling your foot! It's driving me crazy." -- You hurt mommy/daddy wiggling your foot.
"Stop crying, I'm feeling burdon by it." -- as above.
Just saying some types of ideas the kid's mind might consider. That's all. *shrug* What child needs to believe that their egsistance hurts other people? None, imo.

OK, so I posted too. I just couldn't help myself. I had to throw in my two cents.

Who I really feel sorry for is this joaharu's son. Only 3, and she's written him off completely. That's very sad.

AS is a mental disorder. I admit I have a mental condition.

Yeah it is in a way isn't it, but it was a spur of the moment thing lol

I made the point on youtube that *considering all ASDs disorders in need of a cure* seems to lead people to impose artificial limits on autistics' behaviour yada yada yada. I can't find those comments anymore (were they deleted?) but, sure, it's a mental condition, but if you leave it at that, some people might get the wrong idea about certain cases. Anyway, I've had enough of that video; if you look at all of joaharu's arguments, for instance, you see that there's just no point bothering with it; she just calls everyone liars and "WORMTONGUES."

Frankly, joaharu and her supporters seem kind of demented. I wouldn't bother with them any further.

Here's what I've done, and what everyone else needs to do. Everyone here with a youtube account needs to rate this video as low as possible and then go through the comments, marking anything this joaharu mindf**k says as a poor comment. It sickened me to see that this video had a 5 star rating out of 308 ratings. But we can change that, let's make our voices heard, that we object to this bulls**t.

Joaharu's a mindf**k! She's self-righteous, arrogant, and most likely a foul parent. Who really needs to get offended by what she says when it's clear she is doing this to make people THINK she's an expert, when in reality she's more clueless than a concussed troll? Just because she says we're not autistic doesn't mean she's right automatically.
