Hey everyone.....i'm hoping some of you could help me out with something i've been putting together lately.

In about two weeks I'm giving a speech in the town of my alma mata (even though I graduated only 3 months ago) for an autism walk....this school meant alot to me because through a very close friend who motivated me alot I got very involved their and met alot of people through it. I have given two speeches there before which covered positive aspects of aspergers and how support from your parents means the world to an individual who may be having difficulties.

The third speech that I give in 2 weeks will consist of a crowd of people there for the walk but also alot of the people I went to school with and who knew alot about me and my aspergers. I'm trying to come up with good ideas to get a strong point across for my speech before the walk starts. Part of me wants to cover positive aspects (although I've done that already), part of me wants to somehow find a way to get the audience into my head, and part of me almost wants to make a big arguement on how we're the ones who can make the most change in the world if only given the chance that we don't always get because NT's think they're always right even though I probably won't say that.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas for how to get a strong point across, maybe even argue for our rights but without dishonoring how NT's view the world? Any ideas for how I could really shock people as well?

look up the Toastmasters online. It's an organization of speech-givers, who have help for people who think 'they can't give a speech'. I found a little folder of theirs once. The only one I remember was 'the audience wants you to succeed in your speech'.

Thanks for taking the time to address the public. I think the need for a multidimensional approach to the phenomena should maybe be emphasized. Even if nurturing an Aspie is a little more involved and unfamiliar, so what. A Honda jet cannot be judged a defective model because it cannot fit in the same garage as Civic. Perhaps the public's understanding of what a person is needs expanding.

Anyway I'm sure you'll come up with something good.
