Christ, when I saw the 'ninemsn' in the link, I thought that this was an Aussie school. It goes to show, though.

remembered hearing about that a long while back,must have been when it happened.

It just shows who are the ones who really have things 'wrong' with them.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the video... it would upset me too greatly. I'd like to see some updates on this story, as I'd like to see the accused 'organizers' be put away for life (though a nice ass beating should go along with the prison sentences ).

In a related case in the UK, some women who got their young children to fight ended up with jail. I think that a jail sentance would be in order. Followed by community service of cleaning toilets.

I think it's wrong to force anyone to fight.

I think that idea of "sovereign immunity" should be abolished. The same thing happens if your car gets hit by a bus even if the bus driver as totally negligent.

On second thought, six months in prison and 100 hours of community service
is more appropriate, preferably cleaning toilets with a tooth brush.

I wish there were organized fights at my school where one wouldn't get in trouble for what they did. It would have been beautiful.

This reminds me of that episode of Southpark where Jimmy fights Timmy. Cripple fight! This is actually really bad though.

It doesn't sound to me like he would want people forced to fight, but he'd want them to be allowed to if they wanted.

Being able to challenge people to a duel who verbally abuse you, for example, and not getting in trouble for the fight, like what normally happened/happens. That would have been so cool.

Not "forced", no (well, I'd like those who verbally abuse others to be forced into the fight if they're challenged).

Dueling was such a good idea.

The staff were not deserving enough of the sack.

Whatever the students' disability was, things like assertiveness training would be appropriate and somewhat of a requirement to help them, but not to this extent.
