I have driven farm tractors, pickup trucks. I got my drivers lic. At 19 years after I went into the military and went on to drive ambulance and cracker boxes on flight line. Then later moving trucks, haul trucks, etc... I haven't driven for two years because of Rx. I have an excellent driving record. I miss driving. I can use a friend's jeep like I did when I first moved back. But the Rx messes my concentration and delays my reaction, impairs my judgement. I walk a lot, take buses and taxis now. I want to get off this Lyrica buy a new car and drive again.

Oh I have that same damned problem. Those Lyrica will really throw you.

I've found taking a B12 with them calms the crazy feeling down a bit, enough you can actually focus to some extent. Try that.

I take Super B-Complex everyday and still I have problems. Maybe it is the dosage, 300 mgs @ night. Or maybe it's just the way it effects my nervous system. My mother takes 80 mgs less and drives all the time. Everyone is different. BTW I love that picture.

I'm 16, and this happened to me recently. I was on my medication at the time, but it was supposed to help, not hinder, my efforts ... I nearly ran over a row of trashcans when was distracted by my own thoughts.

I've been driving for about half my life now (i'm 30) i did the learners permit thing and then got my license at 16 and 30 days (indiana law requires the 30 day thing)

I hate driving in heavy traffic and tend to avoid cities like Chicago but i have probably logged several hundred thousand miles of driving in the last 15 years.

I have even driven across country (well most of the way) from ft lauderdale FL to phoenix AZ in my trans am back in 2005. i did it in 4 days with 2 shorter half days at the beginning and end and 2 full days in the middle.

I learned how to drive when I was big enough to reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel. I can drive (I am actually good at it), but I do not like to. I find it stressful. I prefer to walk.

I got my license when I was 18 (which isn't all that pathetic considering that it's illegal to drive before then in Denmark), after 10 extra driving lessons and having failed twice. I was no natural, but I'm proud to say that today I'm a driver.
I'm still not comfortable with motorways, but I'll get there. Fortunately I don't need to leave town all that often. Next time will be march 30th, when I'm heading to my psychiatrist appointment (excitement!).

I still get nervous when driving sometimes, but I make myself feel confident, because I know I'm good at it.
I don't make unfortunate mistakes anymore and I'm usually very focused. (:

However I don't think I'll ever find driving enjoyable or amusing.

I felt the same way, but over the years I came to enjoy the open road, and the freedom to just come and go as I pleased. I hope it will be the same for you!

I have been driving since I was sixteen. I have had my license since I was eighteen.

I have driven in numerous conditions, ranging from hot enough that your tyres become very soft, to the ice-roads of the arctic that are literally constructed of black ice.

In fact, I find that most drivers pay rather little attention to their surroundings, refuse to drive the speed limit, and come to a virtual stop for a quarter-block before making a turn. Also, merging is apparently now a lost art to be shelved along with swordfighting and sailstitching.

I got my driver's license at the age of 21. I seemed to learn to drive reasonably easily. I've only been pulled over once, for forgetting to turn my headlights on - I tend to forget such things. I'm a better driver than NTs though. I follow the laws. Stop at stop signs, use turn signals, drive the speed limit, all things NTs don't do very well around here - including my mom, which is why, now that I know better, I never let her drive me anywhere.

The only problem I have is that I can't drive for more than 30-40 minutes or I get overstimulated. This isn't generally a problem. I don't often drive further than the 20 miles to school, but a few times it was problematic.

Got mine at 22 out of necessity. Passed the test first time.
I have nobody to drive me around and my wife cannot drive so I have that responsibility, no matter what. The scariest situation was when I got a severe concussion that caused me to go 3/4 blind for a few days. I had to drive myself home in that state. At least I knew the route very well and all my routes are planned to have the most predictable traffic flow.

Sensory overload is the biggest problem I face and I sometimes get flustered when there are too many vehicles from too many directions like at some complicated intersections. I generally plan my driving routes to avoid the worst - otherwise I use a GPS even on routes I have driven before just so there is one less thing to worry about. If I don't make a turn-off the gps finds me another way.

I'm 16 years old and got my license about a month ago. I don't have any problems with driving/ getting distracted. I was in a small accident when I had my learner's permit, I was rear-ended at a red light and was bit nervous on the road for a few weeks.
