Update: from working out this semester, I now weigh 132 pounds.
Wow, I am 24, 5' 11 and weigh 180 Lbs. I need to still lose a lot more weight!
all is not lost yet- you should take into account your frame type- are you small, medium or large-framed? [IOW "big bones"]- for example, although i am 6'3" i am small-framed because my wrists are so skinny that i can simultaneously wrap all the fingers of each hand around the opposite wrist. so for me, 180# would still be too heavy, but maybe for you, it might be closer to your healthy weight. your bmi is 25.1, so that means you are just a pound or two over, you want your BMI to not exceed 25. this means you must get your weight down to below 179 or wherabouts. for you this is not going to be too hard. practically, it means adding a half-hour of brisk [like you're late for an appointment] walking to your daily routine, and by the end of september [assuming no changes in diet] you should reach 179. cutting-out at least 1 sugary soda a day would also be helpful. hope this helps.

literally, you've got to walk before you can run. don't rush things, give your body a chance to adapt. going at it too hard and fast can backfire on you. injuries are a possibility. you should up your protein intake and add anaerobic [muscle-building] exercise every other day, or daily but alternating major muscle groups or parts of the body. for example, it took me over a year of painfully slow and halting effort before i could ride my bike uphill for any distance, but that was the only way i could build any muscle and endurance. i had to start basically at the beginning after several years of personal turmoil which got me off the fitness bandwagon and seriously out of shape. fitness is tough to achieve but oh so easy to lose. anyways, to build muscle you've first got to have healthy nourishment, you can't starve and build muscle- more lean protein, more UNrefined carbs [NO WHITE STUFF!] and far less saturated fats. that means no junk food, unfortunately, as junk food is diabolically delicious and addicting.

I don't know what to eat with protein that isn't full of fat and calories (and isn't an animal product, which I don't eat).
Here's what I eat:
every other day/daily: salad/lettuce
maybe 1x/2x a week: steamed or boiled vegetables
1x a month or so: sautee'd mushrooms or onions
This is a lot for me, having just eaten salad for years.
Haven't had junk food since I was 9, and one meal a day has been my max for a decade or so.
At the coaxing of my nephrologist, I ate a burrito the other day, for the first time in years (steamed tortilla, rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and habanero salsa). That was all I ate for two days, and I've already gained a pound from it, so I'm fasting til it comes off.
EDIT: 6/10 of a pound down!

I have changed my lunch into oatmeal and apple, and generally drink diet soda. Though I realized this summer (when overseas) sugar-made soda actually leaves you full compared to high-fructose cornsyrup sodas. If the USA had sugar-made soda to eat with my meals, the full feeling would have me eating less.
Oh, and I am medium-build. Decided this by elimination because I am not scrawny, nor am I big-boned. Though I am more tilted towards big-boned than being scrawny. I have a neck that doesn't show its adam's apple; but still, it is not a thick neck.

both sugar and high fructose corn syrup are not really good for you. oatmeal and apple are the "stick to your ribs" carb combo that will keep you feeling energized and full all morning. and more fluids [like water with or without no-calorie flavoring] is better than less fluids.

fasting trains your body to survive on fewer calories, so it is best kept to a bare minimum as a weightloss tool. better is just the slow steady regimen of sensible diet and consistently vigorous [read: sweaty/panting] exercise. and unless you're allergic to soy, it should be a part of your diet. just sticking to non-refined carbs is the biggest step.

I've put on 25 pounds in the last couple of years, and I feel much healthier, more grounded, and calmer. I quit my stressful physical job about 6 months ago, and then started working out on an elliptical trainer a couple of weeks ago when I started to feel flabby. I like food a lot, so I probably will have to keep burning 1000 calories a day for the rest of my life to keep my weight where it is right now. I likes me some elliptical training, though.

i put mine in the freezer 'til it's on the misty edge of freezing. my drinks all gotta be ice-cold. IMHO, there is nothing nastier than warm beer.
