I've been sleeping on the floor since about 8-9th grade. I like it for some reason. It's comfy. I used to sleep with a thick comforter under the floor, but now I just sleep on top of a sorta thin comforter. I don't know, I mainly like it because if I need more space or whatever, I can just move all my blankets to the side and have more space. People say I'll mess my back up with it, but it seems the opposite for me. I don't know, for some reason I just feel better sleeping on the floor. For a few years I slept on a mattress on the floor (due to DCF calling my mother terrible for allowing me to move my mattress and bed out of my room,) and for one or so, futons, but I keep going back to just the floor and a blanket, as it's just most comfortable.

So anyone else like sleeping on the floor?

No, but I used to sleep on futons on the floor. Actually it is very good for your back.

Wow, I used to sleep on the floor when I was younger (up until my teens) even though I had a bed. I thought I was the only one! I think I'd find it uncomfortable now, but at the time I preferred it. I felt safer on the floor than in bed, for some reason.

I did this until I was in my 20's. As a child I would sleep on the floor beside my bed.

My brother swears by it for his back problems, but I've tried it for my own back and neck problems and didn't get good results. Different things work for different people, I guess.

One thing different for me is, I have low arches in my feet. If I wear any sort of shoe with like, significant cushion inside, ala a running shoe, I get plantar fasciitis. So the shoes with more "support" are worse for me. So I wear like cheap Converse and my feet feel fine, then more "advanced" shoes they feel like crap.

Same with beds I guess.

I sleep with my box spring and mattress on the floor, I can't be bothered with a bed frame. An added bonus: I don't have to clean under my bed!

Read the book Born to run will explain all the Shoe issues.

In short though, Fancy high arch shoes and all those Advance rubbish = Keeps your feet under developed, has absolutely no use and raises the risk of injury in the knees and tendons if your a runner. The modern shoes all based off Nike's trainers have only been around since the 60s and 70s and there has been almost to research to see if all these "Functions" Actually help you.

The book sums it up better.

Unless aliens broke into my home and stole my bed, no.

I wonder if I'll ever find a wife that'd sleep on the floor. This might make relationships awkward, not having a bed and all. Heh.

Just don't bring it up until she's committed, heh. The two of you will figure something out, and your young enough that your preferences may change soon anyway.

Slept on the floor for a decade or so. Sometimes with and often without a mattress. Even in the beginning with my fiance we shared a 3/4 single mattress on the floor. But it ended up with a bed by the time we got married.

I still like the floor and am sitting on it now rather than the lounge that I'm leaning against.

I slept on the floor for years. Its so weird how many of my uncommon idiosyncratic features are common on these forums.
