Eyes that are mixture brown and green

Are eyes that are a mix of green and brown….technically are they in the brown eyed category/spectrum.

Maybe or maybe on the green spectrum

Mine are almost black. The healthier I am the darker they get

I have green/brown eyes. Looking at photos of my childhood though they just looked brown

What colour are your parents eyes

My mother has a darker shade of brown than me with a little bit of green in her eyes, my dad has blue eyes with some grey in it and my brother blue eyes.

Yeah so you must get yours mainly from your mother

My daughters eyes are bright blue like her dads

I think maybe my eyes looked more brown in old photos because photo quality was not so back in the 90s?

Brown - Amber - Hazel - Green - Blue - Grey

Hazel eyes are interesting because the dominant colour can vary from person to person! This can make it difficult to categorise them as either brown or green because it's a spectrum within a spectrum. Certain shades of Hazel probably fit closer to the brown side, whereas others fit closer to the green. It would depend on variations of the iris. I like to think of it as a gradient. Hues on a colour scale.

Lighting has a major effect on how a colour appears. Cameras especially can really vary. Particularly when it comes to colour settings. Lighter colours in general tend to be more ambiguous due to their reflective nature. Hazel is what I'd consider to be in the middle.

Cameras have also changed over the years in terms of how they display colour and photographs do fade.

Although, it is also completely natural for a person's eye colour to gradually change as they get older. So that could absolutely be a factor.
