I stopped taking birth control a few months ago and it really helped my skin stay really clear. Now I have recently started to break out. What do you guys use that helps your skin stay clear? I have tried proactiv and it doesn't work that well. It is very expensive as well. Please let me know what might help!

Try avoiding dairy foods, like ice cream and yogurt. And give up milk if you're willing to; switch to an alternative such as rice or almond milk.

Funny thing is, I still get some acne even though I'm in my 40s.

This neutrogena product with salicylic acid seems to help me some.

I'm always breaking out, it's just mild and minimal. I just pop zits. It works for me, and the creams irritate my skin. I still wash my face though, but with mild soap.

I usually have okay skin but when I do break out it is painful and a few in one spot. I hate it. I now have a pimple under my lip and kind of in the spot where someone would get a monroe piercing. So annoying. I hate when my skin gets like this.

On numerous occasions, both recently and around a year ago girls commented on how perfect my skin is and asked if I used any creme or anything. I feel so horrible because I don't even try to do a lot of things and I still have them, while others seem to try as hard as they can and don't get as much out.

Yeah. I can agree that intolerance to/reactions to dairy can cause skin problems or exacerbations, but as a five year vegan, I can attest to the fact that going dairy-free isn't a cure all.

Accutane: Godsend.

My skin is just really, insanely, sensitive, so the less I touch and irritate it, the less it breaks out. So lightly washing my face with water, moisturizing a little bit, and avoiding medications or harsh cleansers helped me more than anything else. I had terrible acne when dealing with doctors and birth control. I just avoid doing anything, and it's so much better. Also I use powder foundation to cover up what is there, since it's a whole lot less cloggy than the liquid foundation I've used, and looks nicer.

Thanks for the advice. I usually don't wash my face unless I am just putting water on it and it has been okay for a while. My mom is getting married on Friday and go figure my skin is a disaster. Gahh!

No. It is not herpes, thank you very much. I know the difference.
